Hi all,

I'm looking to build a work station for processing vast amounts of photogrammetry and mobile mapping.

I'm trying to find out the real difference between using a quadro or fire pro card to using a gtx1080ti?

There's no video or image editing involved just data processing.

Will be programs such as pix4d, lss etc being used although their not widely used I'm hoping someone could give me their opinions on the benefits of each.

Thanks in advance

Annoyingly the other software we use specifically mentions the quaddro cards. Are they just higher binned cards?

Nope they generally have better floating point performance (ideal for GPU acceleration of some tasks), and have professional certified drivers for specific software

So for the software I'm looking to use hardly worth it?

Depends on what the speedup in the other software is in the scheme of things (e.g. if it provides a 70% speedup that saves you 3 hours a day, only you can decide if it's worth it)

Well any time saved would be a huge help.

But looking at benchmarks there's no difference between a rx480 and an wx7100.

Am I just missing the point?
