Buying a laptop from the USA?

Been eyeing a decent gaming laptop, nothing too fancy as I have a decent desktop setup, and noticed a really good offer from across the pond, even including shipping fees and import tax.

The laptop is an Acer, which I have noticed offer a 1 year international warranty. Questions:

How good is their warranty?
Are there any drawbacks at buying over there appea from the power cable?

No, US keyboard only, another drawback.

In the event of a warranty claim would you have to send it back to the US or is there an EU location you return it to?

Shipping to the USA for warranty repairs wont be cheap especially if insuring it to the retail value and it would be a slow process.

That is a fair point, there is an international travellers warranty, but that applies only if you visit a different countr.y
