I’ve been wanting to go back, and I believe @ScoobyDoo69 was contemplating it too.

I’m pretty open on dates but can’t do the 16th or 23rd June (which is annoying as I’d love a go of the F4).

Nice one :)

Sounds good... the feedback I've had so far from the others is that the 30th June would be the best date... so let's aim for that one :)

If we're going to do that date, I would need to get the 50% deposit arranged by 30th April... they ask for 2 months.

I will have a chat with the account manager I spoke to earlier and ask if he can process payments also... so that for your piece of mind you guys are paying Palmersport directly rather than sending anything to a random forum member. That way you guys can likely put it on credit card too if that's easier. Not interested in holding anyones' funds myself if I don't have to - I'd be much happier for you to pay them direct. Sure it's OK, just need to check.

Have you been on one before and can give us some feedback? Just had a look on their website and its not clear what time/laps/freedom to push you get.

If you've ever done an 'expierence' track day you will know how important freedom and lap time is in these cars. Some aren't even worth going. This looks promising though :)

I've done one and trust me your desire to push will get to its limit before the instructor jumps on the pedals! I **** my pants!

Sure, happy to.

I've done 2. The first was one organised by @Gibbo a few years ago on these forums. The second was one I did with a friend in 2015.

Of the various experience days... this is the only one I would recommend.

You get about 12 minutes in each car and apart from the single seater, you have an instructor in the passenger seat helping you from the passenger seat.

There are no rev limits and they encourage you to push to find both your limits and the limits of the vehicle.

The circuit was designed for these days... the allow the owners to allow the instructors to allow the punters to have a proper play with the cars - there is a lot of run-off space to push the cars.

There are no artificial rev limits on the car and you are pushed by the (good) instructors to find the rev limit, not avoid it.

Unless you want to pay much much more money to rent a dedicated vehicle for a track day and pay more for an instructor... you will not find a better day in the UK for similar money.

To give you an idea of costs for a similar experience of renting a vehicle for your use with an instructor... I would expect to pay at minimum of £2000 for the day for a mid-powered Caterham or £3000+ for the day for something like the JP-LM (Radical SR3) with an instructor. Although for the latter, you'd get some more time in the car to compensate for the premium.

This isn't anything like your typical experience day... this is more like an entry to racing with good instructors who are paid to teach you and push you... I'd bet you the cost of the day to back up that claim.

If you want to have a proper play with the cars on offer, for the price on offer, there is no better option - I stake my reputation on it.

And here's me from my first (OcUK organised) Palmersport day - even thought I spin the car twice, the instructor continues to push me to improve my driving... which I do, to go on to win the fastest time of the day:

Been twice in the past, they push alright! It’s about as far from your run of the mill track experience you will get, only booking private tuition will push you further imo.

My old boss actually chickened out of driving the JP1 with instructor after doing the other cars lol. He owns a rover v8 Cobra replica and has driven “the ring” a few times.

Thanks for the comment... and yes, the instructor will push you til you've run out of talent.

My second time there is one of my proudest moments, getting a 75.9s lap around the west circuit is a damn fine achievement, even now that I know how to drive it... and the only reason I did so well is thanks to having such a good instructor sitting next to me that she pushed me to find my limit in the car (note: not the car's limit).

That instructor... was Abbie Eaton... the very same woman who is "The Stig" for season 2 of The Grand Tour.

My first time there... my instructor for the E92 M3 GTP was Vicki Butler-Henderson's brother!

Seriously... by far the best punter experience in the UK... there is no comparison.

Here's my last F3000 run, in the wet. I have to say, in the wet was far more interesting/challenging than in the dry!

Having done a couple of instructor led (albeit only 30 minute or so stints) sessions at knockhill and the difference that made to my driving I'd love to do this and can well imagine how much you'd get out of it. Wouldn't even mind the travel distance from Glasgow

Just don't think the date will work for me but if it ends up looking like a separate late September session could work I'll give it some serious thought.

Totally superb days, highly recommended, single seater is still best!

I would join, but I've done around 10 of these days now and well as it would be my own money, rather put a grand into doing track days in the M3 or SVR. :)

I used to work there, it's all about pushing to the limit and beyond...! Unlike a lot of other experienced, short shifting etc.

But I will point out, we’ll worth it, especially if you’ve not been before! I guarantee that for someone interested in cars and driving, you will have one of the best days of your life, regardless of the weather (I’ve done a dry and icy day, and a wet as a river day - the Caterham Persuit was delayed whilst they tried to drain the course!)

Sure it looks like a lot of money, but smiles for the pound it’s great.
