Hello

Trying to sort a build for a mate and I've suggested for his needs, one of the new AMD APUs would be ideal.
MB, CPU and RAM I'm pretty much sorted, but not sure on cases. Trying to keep it small (and low budget). Mini ITX boards are considerably more expensive so sticking with micro ATX

How does this look? The case comes with power, but really not sure....

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £338.38 (includes shipping: £10.50)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £322.57 (includes shipping: £11.70)

case is oos at ocuk, but can get it elsewhere with a quick google.
kolink 350w sfx psu is pretty decent.

i wouldn't get the BL641 you listed. old case - no usb3 (lol in 2018) and debatable psu

Cheers Tamzzy. Yeah the case is causing me the most headache.
He's not ready for me to build it yet, just speccing him up.
I looked at that board before so think I'll go for that one

Stick with Gigabyte if you can afford. If AMD takes a while to get the Bios Package to you, at least you can contact Gigabyte UK to hopefully send in board for bios update. Believe it will cost for postage and packaging but UK based. ASRock and others your down to AMD .
Not sure if @AMDMatt could lend a view point in how amd deal with APU bios update or @GIGA-Man about gigabyte bios update

We can provide a bootkit, we'll just need to see a picture of your processor, showing the actual CPU, serial number, OPN and a copy/screenshot of your invoice/receipt.

Good point about bios updates. Still a few weeks away from new motherboards I assume. I'll send him the spec and see when he wants to pull the trigger

Hello

Just a quick thread revival. I've had the approval to go ahead with the build. How does this look?
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £310.97 (includes shipping: £11.10)
https://w I went with the cheaper ...ve used his business account? Thanks[/INDENT

should be good! if the board doesn't have APU bios installed, can get a boot kit from AMD or contact gigabyte (rep on here) to get board flashed
Kolink rep is now active to defend their budget PSUs and seems from a German Review the SFX arent bad for the price of them

Excellent. Cheers.

One last question if I may.
My friend wants to buy this via his business (it is for work, partly). If I purchase through my account and use his business card, would the invoice be linked to me and my account? This is obviously for Tax reasons :)

call ocuk and ask for business team- prob be able to take his VAT reg and deal without tax etc etc etc and RMA would be with him direct - mention you;ve got the right amount of post for free delivery retail wise ;)

As your name is on the invoice even though its his card

Excellent. Thanks for the help. I'll give him the good news now, and get ordering!

Just FYI, the PSU in my build and by inference, your proposed spec is SFX. Depending on your case, it may or may not fit. SFX power supplies are smaller than atx power supplies.

(I specced it because of the case)
The T2 plus case in your spec takes ATX power supplies

i know you sorted like, this is just an idea for higher budget.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £476.23 (includes shipping: £12.30)

itx form factor, 1030 is meant to edge the APU vega slightly, atx power supply, bigger, but still small case, basically similar performance to the APU, but a much better upgrade path should your mate want better, you can fit a 1070 in this case, maybe 1080 where ass the smaller cases like you first chose limits you to 1050ti because of height and limited to the included 300w psu.

Hi All,

Bit of a thread revival. I took bits from everyone and my mate ended up going for an itx build.
So, got round to building it today ('working' from home). However, looks like I'll need to flash the bios as it's not even posting.
What's the best way to go about this?

Thanks
