Hi All,

My daughters R9 380 died on her & I'm looking for a replacement. She's 11yrs old and probably the most demanding game she plays (at the moment) is Fortnite. Her budget is £200 however, not going to lie in that I'm a bit clueless on where to go with this. She plays at 1080p.

Her specs are:

i5-4690k 3.5ghz
HyperX Fury 8GB
EVGA SuperNova GS 550W 80+

Like I said, I'm a bit clueless so if I've missed any important info please just say.

Thanks

Within budget, then the 1050ti is your friend, but it's slower than the 380 it's going to replace.
Bump in performance would be either rx570 or 1060 3gb, but those are over budget.

Thank you. I'll have a look.

Is there anything stopping me from looking at Nvidia cards? Is it only the drivers I'd need to sort or are there other reasons not to.

Correct. Just boot with the integrated GPU, download nvidia drivers, uninstall Radeon drivers, plug in new Nvidia GPU, boot and install the nvidia drivers

No worries buddy, hope you get a card and your daughter gets back gaming again :)

Ordered so she's delighted. Thanks to you and the others who helped. Much appreciated.

Wouldn't it be worth waiting a couple of weeks? The bay is getting flooding with cards the retailers are bound to react soon.

Quite possibly however the card in question is between £50 - £85 more expensive everywhere else. Also her grandparents bought her it and were happy to buy now as they hadn't bought her anything for a while.
