Hi all,

So my Shuttle SH67H3 has finally decided to pack up and I'm looking for some advice with regards to either upgrading or going for a new build.

I rarely game so will be used mainly for work In actual fact broke down my gaming pc last year and all I have left is the psu!

Ideally similar in size to the Shuttle budget £600ish but could go higher. After a bit of troubleshooting I have a working:

I3 2100
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3
ATI HD5770
OCZ 600w psu
SAMSUNG 850EVO 500gb

Completely out of the loop tbh with hardware but excited to build something again :)

what work do you do on the computer?
no gaming = basic graphics should suffice?
if all those parts are working and you don't need a powerhouse computer, then the cheapest option i suspect, is to get a used z77 board...

I would do something like this if your not gaming, will have plenty of poke, is very small, and should last a long time:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £617.63 (includes shipping: £11.70)

Keep your current SSD as well

Edit - you could probably get away with your current PSU - but 7 years is a long time, and OCZ made some great gear, but some of it was really really cheap crap too so I'm not sure where you'd stand with it.

Thanks everyone at most I would play wow but hardly taxing on graphics and I imagine the onboard stuff is on a par with the GPU.

If I end up just going for mobo case option will probably grab myself an i5 in the process.

Have a week off so hopefully can get it no.a bit more research and get it ordered tomorrow.

Nah, the 5770 should pummel the i3 onboard.
Probably would beat any integrated Intel GPU tbh, even the new stuff.
Ryzen APU might be better than that Radeon though, would have thought that would play WOW at high settings 1080p no bother (unless they've updated the graphics engine in wow in the last 4 years - it's been a while since I played)

@BongoHunter that build looks good and without the SSD and PSU would be well within budget.

Edit: The psu is newer bought it when my seasonic packed in and I made sure I bought a higher end modular one.

Hi

Thought I would post an update, I ended up going Intel as I was able to pick up a coffee lake i5 cheap from a mate. Based the other components around the intel equivalent that @BongoHunter suggested so here it is:

Intel Core i5-8400 LGA 1151
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4
Noctua NH-L9i INTEL CPU Cooler
Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX
Gigabyte Z370N-WIFI DDR4 ITX

9

Made me want to get a new GPU as the 5770 wouldn't fit in properly so using onboard atm!

lookin good. tbh, i'd take away the hdd holders and just stick the ssds somewhere convenient. the 8400 is gonna need some air (with the nh-l9 being so small)
or use a 120mm aio

One of the HDD holders is hiding the cables haha.

Think I might keep my eye out for a deal on the 1050ti 4GB. Although the Asus one on the website for 149.99 looks like a reasonable price.
