Hi there

My girlfriend would like a PC and I am going to build her one. I have specced the below machine however i'd quite like a second opinion and to see whether there's anything I've not considered or thought about.

She already has a GPU and case fans, along with keyboard/mouse/headset/monitor. So it's only the build she needs. Budget is around £450.

She will only be light gaming and doing uni work. She will probably play the SIMS a lot and maybe WoW and also PUBG at lower settings.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £417.51 (includes shipping: £11.70)

How does it look? Would you improve/change anything and why?

Thank you

tiny bit above budget, but:
better processor
faster ram (ryzen loves faster ram)
(arguably) more reliable HDD
better psu
(slightly cheaper case to balance the budget)

Thanks Tamzy. Looks good. She is pretty set on the coolermaster q300l case. She'll have a better processor than me :o

swap! lol
tbh, if you aren't getting the 2200g, then the next best bang-for-buck processor is the 1600.
i wouldn't recommend anything else even if it's slightly overbudget.

not a bad choice

what gpu does your gf have, if it's power hungry then maybe a 450w psu isnt sufficient?
(sorry should have asked this question beforehand)

I will either, get a new Ryzen Zen+ processor when they come out at some point this month, and give her my 1200.

In regards to the GPU, she has an ATI 270. It's old but it will do for now, she can have my 1060 when I either get a 1080ti or get one of the new cards when they're out. So need a bit of leeway with PSU wattage.
