Hello, looking at the following spec for an HTPC, any thoughts or notes or stuff you would change.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £505.01 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Obviously will need to wait for the 2200g to come back into stock, and apparently I would need to remove some of the trim on the wraith stealth to get it to fit properly into the case.

Does feel like I'm missing something, but could just be because of how few components there are in this build :P

kept it under £500 by changing to a 480gb ssd sata drive and the cheaper case with power supply, but with the addition of the stronger APU. with a TDP of 65w plus single drive, 120w psu be plenty.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £496.05 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Why not the Intel Hades NUC? It's more expensive but it comes with TB3 ports so you can add a eGPU if you want in the future and I'm pretty sure it out performs this system gaming wise.

The Hades NUC would be around 1060 MaxQ level benchmark wise.

oo, didn't realise the 2400g was going so cheaply, had it in my head it was £150+

I think at one stage I saw it around that amount also, but that price of 128.99 doesn’t seem to from discount, but then from reading the desktop gpu comparison wise it be like going from a gtx 750 to a gtx 1050 or maybe 750 to 950, it’s enough to warrant the extra cost but if I’m not mistake then a 1200 + gt1030 just edges the APU’s performances which obviously cost more as a setup.

Plus the 2400g is in stock ha

As cool as that would be, it just about doubles my budget by the time I've put memory and storage in it. And its a little overkill for my use case :P

you would have to look elsewhere, but theres the older nuc's and brix, well i say older, they still in the shops brand new, think they from £90 and they would still do the HTPC stuff, anything will really, like those acer revo's
