Screaming child quandary

Letting the little beasties cry it out is quite normal. Particularly at bed time. Teaches them mummy and daddy aren't just going to come running when you demand it.

Knock on the door holding a shovel and inform them that they can shut the child up, or you can, their choice.

An hour is a little extreme, but not completely uncommon when a tantrum is in full swing. Just bear with it, it's probably a phase.

They call it the Terrible Twos. The child will come out of it a better person. The parents are probably equally sick of it.

I did not know that as it decades since my own children were that age.

"please do something about the screaming kid, it's super loud in my flat, kthxbai"

Cannot see anywhere in my thread that said it was super loud?

If it is normal then fine as I can bring it up in a very light hearted way and judge their response. To say nothing I don't think is really an option.

Perfectly normal IMHO. You can't rationalise with a two year old, you either bribe them, distract them or ignore them. Because you cant drug them :) And pray they grow out of it quickly.

Haha, they hate it as much as you, probably a load more actually!
Do them a favour and don't make then feel any worse about it :)
Leave them alone, it will pass.

When my son was about 2 he had a full on tantrum in a car park as he didn't want to leave. Some random stranger came up threating to call social services and the police if I didnt calm him down right away as no child should behave like that. So if you do feel the need to say something please don't do it during the tantrum. I have never been as angry as I was on that day. Still makes me angry now thinking about it. So please think about your timing.
