I'm interested in getting a PS4 for games like Infamous, Spiderman, God Of War etc.... but don't have a 4K screen, Would the Pro be a bit of a waste over the slim considering its main selling point is higher resoltion ?

Unless you have a 4K TV, or intend to buy one, then no, it is not worth the bother.

Plus the boost at 1080p with a pro, is not worth the extra cost.

I am in the same boat and only have a 1080p TV and was thinking that the PS4 pro gives better fps in most games of am I missinformed

I’ve had a PS4 since launch and a 1080p tv, got a pro this week and well worth the upgrade for super sampling and boost mode imo

I'd be interested to know which games you are playing to see differences in because I can't tell bugger all difference in any of the games I own apart from Rise of the Tomb Raider with regards to supersampling.

Yes IMO its very much worth it even if you do not have a 4k display.

As an example Titanfall 2 on the PS4 stuttered quite badly at points during some of the final levels of the game when loads of stuff was going on, the PS4 Pro is seamless.

BF1 performance was very much improved, admittidely I am quite sensitive to frame rate drops (I game on PC also) but I saw an extreme improvement over the base PS4

Noticiable improvements in other 60fps DICE games like Star Wars Battlefront, even Battlefield 4 now boost mode is enabled.

I upgraded to a Pro prior to moving to a 4k TV. Super Sampling and Boost modes will help with overall quality and performance.
Of course once you upgrade to a good 4k TV and you get one that has a good implementation of HDR, then the Pro really opens up, but there are performance gains to be had in 1080P

xbox one X is better than the Pro, i didnt state exclusives hence why i said get a ps4 and the x, ps4 for the exclusives and the X for being the superior console.

As much as I want to say it's a good upgrade, I'm still not too sure. I went from normal PS4 to Pro with a 4K UHD TV and honestly I don't notice too much difference, but then again I've only played games that have had a Pro patch applied afterwards, rather than any latest games so that's probably why. I suppose if you plan to get a 4K TV in the future then you might as well go for it.

Honestly it was worth the money for Fortnite BR alone but pretty much any shooter I play has either looked better or got a more solid 60fps - Bf1 and 4 being big jumps imo!

My PS4 is pretty much an online shooter machine so mile may vary depending on games I guess, I’d have a one x if the elite pad didn’t kill my hands and my mates weren’t all on PS4, last of them just swapped from Xbox so not sure I even know anyone with an Xbox of any kind now :o

Yeah, I don't play much online. But I also have been using my PS4 Pro for a year now. If I went back to PS4, I might be able to notice a different in fps.

Yeah but the Playstation has such a massive lead in AAA exclusives it's a major factor in recommending a console and i think most people would want to play these exclusives looking and performing the best.

Bought a pro as a part exhange to my normal ps4 but got to wait till Tuesday to pick it up. I'll be playing on a 1080p TV so I'm hoping to see some performance difference as well as visuals.

Saw a Pro setup at Costco the other day on a ridiculous expensive 65" TV. 4k, HDR, the lot. They had Gran Turismo on and I'm not gonna lie, it brought a tear to my eye. Now I want to spend £5k+ on a telly and console :(

Pro is worth it even with an old TV. Loading is quicker, constant frame rates across all games. Future proof (yes, you will buy a 4K TV soon)

You don't need to spend that though. The 65" Sony 9005 or 9305 were sub 2k and then with the PS4 Pro - £2500. Even if you added in £1k of audio, you're not going over £3500.
