Apparently when they were being put up a car was circling the block. The whole thing was an act of intimidation.
 
I think this sort of intimidation is another sign of the lawlessness that we now have in the country. London is struggling, Manchester's violent crime as shot up 3 times its previous level, and now this situation.

I hope the era of political correctness dies in my life time. It's been nothing but madness since it appeared at the end of the 90s. The whole effect as made it so good people are nervous to get involved, and bad people arent punished for doing wrong.

Well yeah, they're obviously general delinquents and scumbags, but my point was that they don't specifically target each other for theft and exploitation like they do "Gorgers" (people who live in houses). They do have a lot of internal feuds between different groups.

You do realise that there are 34 different forces around the UK with their own, very different, leadership. To generalise across them all is rather silly.

Please cite one that has a zero tolerance approach to "travellers" then ;), you can forget whatever authority Great Yarmouth and Cromer come under for a start...

I don't think any force has any policy of zero tolerance specifically targeting any minority group, nor should they - that would be unlawful. Hampshire Police (and many other forces) have had processes such as Operation Quebec to robustly deal with unlawful traveler encampments when they arise.

None of this means the police are choosing not to prosecute offences purely due to membership of a minority group.

If someone is breaking the law why should it matter what group they belong to.

Travellers love to do the rounds on all the Park and Rides around Oxfordshire leaving a mess a crime. Normally there some space left to park but the latest they I go past every day pretty much takes over the entire site. That's a lot of parking fine and mess at the very that we have to pay for at.

When they move from one park and ride they go to the next and it all starts again.

I hope that is true, but i'd imagine most would fear ripping down a shrine incase one of the ***** is watching and then decides to vandalise that persons home/threaten their family.

This type of travelling population just needs to be eradicated, they are nothing but a stain on this planet.

Difficult to argue with that, but it’s not always PC thinking behind it, sometimes it’s a mystery.
e.g., it was, and still is, illegal for minicabs to form ranks, anywhere, but on any night you’d find them forming a line around the block, outside popular venues.
They still do, outside places like the recently reopened Fabric in Smithfield.
My nieces have told me of times when they’ve been looking for a Black Cab in Farringdon Road, or St. John Street, and coppers have told them to go to Fabric, they’ll always find a minicab there, how can that be right?

The general public remain unconvinced.
 
Travelers are virtually all like this. A former FILs friend sat on one who was trying break into his car while police came. The guy was drunk and drugged up and ended up dying.

FILs friend had go under protection. One of the local pubs got smashed up when some of em came up from somewhere trying find out who did it and trying to find someone who knew the info. He woulda been killed mind.

I had another friend who was made kiss a ****** shoes because he'd fought off someone jumping him (*****). What they didn't show on the footage was him being surrounded and having a hunting knife put to his throat. Different world.
 
There have already been examples posted of Police forces treating travelers with kid gloves in this thread, not wanting to enter sites/not pursuing people because they've entered sites, choosing not to enforce laws when a big group is involved etc... Those are surely policy decisions by senior officers in those forces?

Had similar at Chester until barriers that read the plate went in. You now have to key in your reg when buying the ticket to be let out again. Don't know if they're automatically linked to a check that the vehicle is taxed and insured, but I'd hope so.
 
i knew this would go tony martin route.said it previously. the newspapers and media will be rubbing their hands.

as someone has pointed out not all gypseys ****** are bad.same with any race human.you get bad eggs.
 
Looks like some locals took it down now and the scum people put it back up.

The locals need to get some bright pink paint and throw it on the scum/shrine.

Really it should be the cops arresting the people for putting up the shrine as its causing a breach of the peace.
