I think the Vignale looks so bland. Alloys look bland. BROWN.

The ST-line looks better (obvs) but the alloys are nicked straight off the Megane Signature spec. The sides look like the current Clio and the whole thing looks like a blown up Fiesta. (Whereas the Fiesta should look like a shrunken Focus). There is a difference! :p

Thoughts?

Have you seen what they're asking for the new Fiesta though it's insane for what it is, i guess no one actually buys them now and their lease deals must be good by some black magic maths.

Outside design language lends itself much better to the Focus size than fiesta.

Inside all I can see is a stuck on screen - will age terribly, otherwise it's fine.

Price wise (list price at least) higher end models are stupid, but not a surprise. A low powered titanium from a broker will probably offer the best "value" against kit

Vignale in a not horrid brown will probably be a good three year old buy. Probably only sell about ten of them to private buyers tho

For the first time, not all versions will include Ford’s sophisticated independent rear suspension – a hallmark of the nameplate since 1998. A simpler twist beam will be used on cars with less than 125bhp.
but handling was its forte

All feature new selectable driving modes, and there’s an option to add adaptive dampers which can pre-adjust suspension settings for taut handling or to counteract bumps and potholes.
based on vision - was trying to find an explanation ?

The outgoing Focus had brought autonomous braking and park assist into its segment, and the new car gets the latest technology in the Ford portfolio. This includes adaptive cruise control with active lane keeping and the ability to stop and start in traffic jams, as well as adjusting its speed based on roadside signs. Park Assist 2 enables hands-free, feet-free parking, by pressing a button on the centre console.

I think over £30k for a non ST or RS focus?

Are they nuts?

No, the info you have is wrong.

Focus starts from:

Style - £17,930
Zetec - £19,300
ST-Line - £21,570
ST-Line X - £24,050
Titanium - £21,550
Titanium X - £22,820
Vignale - £25,450

Even the highest price is £28,890 so not sure why they said it would be over £30,000

I see they now went with the nasty, fake and plastic exhaust pipe ends like other manufacturers.

The MK2 ST and RS are still the best looking ones they've made. 2 Door obviously.

Maybe it's a grower, but first impression I think the exterior just looks odd, however the estate does look nicer imo.

Interior seems a nice step up though.

My first thought is that it looks ok. But straight away my thought was "1 series". It seems they've taken some inspiration from BMW for sure:

I agree with the likeness to the 1-series, first thing I thought when I saw the spy shots taken from the Ford photoshoot.

As a current mk3 owner, I think it looks pretty reasonable.

Exterior looks decent enough, and some of the changes make a lot of sense (e.g. split rear lights). Interior is nice (although don't think the Mk3 is that bad unlike some here), but the stuck on screen is naff (and who actually thinks that touchscreens in cars are a good idea?)

As for Cee'd being a better car... just no :)

I hope it is as good a steer as the previous "foci". Not sold on the exterior yet but the interior looks good and certainly good enough to compete with BMW 1 series, A class etc

I think it looks quite nice, but then I like the latest 1 series. Its certainly a improvement over the current model imho.

Quite a range of options and nice step on in tech. I can imagine my parents would like the active one as they are now less active and like higher cars.

Will have to see what the prices are like.

:) good point the labelling is oxymoron - my folks too

more info on tech to go wrong
Ford said: ‘The technology helps reduce the impact of driving through potholes, by detecting the edge of a pothole and adjusting the damper so that the wheel doesn’t fall as far into it.
‘Because the tyre and wheel don’t drop as far, they don’t strike the opposite side of the pothole as harshly. The rear suspension can respond even faster, with a signal from the front wheel providing a pre-warning to the rear wheel well before it reaches the pothole.’
