Much prefer previous gen. Really don't like the rear end on these. Seen a few fiestas around, and think they're hideous.
My first thought is that it looks ok. But straight away my thought was "1 series". It seems they've taken some inspiration from BMW for sure:

Not a fan, it doesn't really look like a Ford. Usually their styling is pretty unique.

Ford really are crap at the moment first the Ka+that looks like it was designed for India 20yrs ago then the bland Fiesta which is a step back in design compared to the now 10yr old mk7 design and now the Focus looks like a bloody 2009-2012 shape Mazda 3 from the side and a blown up Fiesta from the front and back. Also has a hint of 1 series and Volvo v40 from certain angles.
Was hoping Ford would get back to the long thin lights at the back similar to the mk1,2 and 2.5 to at least give it a different look to the competition but no it just looks the same as all the other hatches out at the minute.

had thought tablet screen maybe safety recommendation for some markets where you want to minimize distraction, versus lower positioned screen,

Exactly my thought with it.
It totally puts me off when they do this. It looks like it is just added as an afterthought

I'm on the fence with this one. It's not a terrible looking car, but not sure what I think compared to the previous generation.
