i love how people on here always blame ebay like thats the problem.
there are "plonkers" like this all over the place, the reason you hear about them on ebay more is because its the biggest auction site so the place you are most likely to be able to shift your stuff quickly.
everybody knows about it, its even advertised on TV now its gotten that big.
You will get plonkers/idiots/chancers/scammers its the nature of the beast.
I suppose the only thing you can do to apportion blame to ebay is there "buyer is right until proved wrong policy", but there are ways for a seller to protect themselves against this somewhat.
I have limited selling experience on ebay but as far I can remember all transactions went smoothly, I have bought around 1500 items on there however and encountered a couple of idiots on those transactions during my 10 year tenure on the site.
I recently sold a faulty iphone on there (advertised as such

) and due to posts on this very forum was super super paranoid, so went over the top to protect myself against a scammer, when in actualy fact the transaction went smoothly with no issues whatsoever.
