20k Spec Me

Sooo it's car change time... After a few months with the Abarth I'm getting cold feet again - It looks like my annual mileage may increase and 250 miles to a tank is doing my head in (potentially 10 visits to Shell a month if it increases to say 12/15k/20k...)

I don't want something too quick but want something fairly sharpish...

What does Motors recommend?

So far the spec I'm looking at is roughly this:

20k Budget - Less would be better, say 17k? But can stretch.
Sub 7s 0-60
40MPG on a run / 30 round town
Auto
Petrol
Sat Nav
Bluetooth
Dual Zone Climate
Heated Seats
Cruise Control
Something with an amount of 'kerb appeal' (I'm only 21).
Decent interior


The Octavia vRS keeps coming up as does the Leon Cupra...

M135i's can be in budget but not sure on their spec or where to start and the warranty costs scare me a little as does insurance.

I'm a little unsure on where to go from here

Just not really feeling the M135i, GTI and Cupra are well up there though. But I also like the 4 Series

As long as it's less than 3k I don't care. I wrote off my last car, it's almost the same to insure a 1L Fiesta as it is a 350Z.

Could look at the 328i F30 but at the end of the day it is a 2.0 4 pot with a turbo so is it really worth much more than a 320i?

Focus St ticks all the boxes except the auto box. Its much better fun than the VRS which i also have driven.

I tried.. was a big no no from insurers my 3.0 Z4 coupe was cheaper.
