Hello!

I have just joined the forum as I am looking for a new gpu I have not had one for a couple months as I bought a 1050 TI and it was DOA so I returned it and I decided that I might as well get the best I can afford so I don't have to upgrade it for a while as I probably would have with the 1050 and if I want to dip my feet into 1440p. Now I wanted to know will a 1070 be a good match for the i5 6500? Will there be any signs of a botlekneck? I will be playing RTS games and AAA games mostly at 1080 60hz

Thanks for the help

Will run fine but probably overkill for 1080p at 60hz, however if you are getting a 1440 higher refresh.. monitor it will be a help.

CPU would then become the bottle neck though, so you might want to look at dropping in a second hand sky/kabby I7.
I guess a lot depends on how soon you intend to increase monitor resolution and/or refresh rate.

Hi thanks for the reply I was maybe thinking of upgrading the CPU and monitor maybe at the end of this year as I was already planning on upgrading the CPU.my monitor is about 4 or so years old. I might switch completely to ryzen it depends .
