When buying 2nd carbon road bike?

What do you look for? To ensure it's not stolen etc.

I'm looking at a planet X EC 130 but nearly £2k new it could be had for about £1k.
I'm insure how to work out the age because they say it's 2017 but no receipt.

The receipt would be emailed to them. They deleted the email? They might be able to get Planet X to resend proof of purchase?

I'll ask for the frame number. They have no receipt as they allegedly bought it from a friend.

"I haven’t received the info yet but I have just contacted Planet X and they say if the frame has a serial number it would be in the head tube but they do not keep a file of the serial numbers for cross reference it is for the manufactures purpose only I just been on there website on live chat feel free to do the same so it puts your mind at rest."

So I dunno.

I just decided against buying a 2nd hand mtb because they had no proof of purchase. Saving a grand isn't worth the risk of the rozzers coming to take it off your hands imo.

The bikes I have had stolen, you'd have more chance of the pope coming to your house than the police actually recovering a stolen bike!
