Some more "leaked" specs from the 1180.

to be honest i would not even contemplate EVER just going from 1 card to the next generation of the same "class". (I have been creeping up the ladder each upgrade however since going from gtx560 - 670 - 980)

PErsonally i look for a 100% improvement in framerates before considering the jump..... for me the 1080ti is just that (its a good 100% quaicker than my gtx 980) however with my oculus rift and my 1080p gaming tv i never felt my gtx 980 was suitably over burdened to need to jump.

that all changed once i got a 4k screen.... which leaves the gtx 1080 / 1080ti in a bit of no mans land for me.... its massively over specced for 1080p but not quite their for 4k 60fps (at full eyecandy levels). TBH i do not think the 1180 will be *quite* their either, a 1180ti would be a far better fit for me, but i just cant see me waiting that long.... but either way, IF i had a GTX 1080 there is no way i would be replacing it any time soon.

to each their own however

I've been fine with my 980Ti even at 1440p 165hz, that's why i sold on my 1080Ti. Looking forward to the next Ti and i may well skip a generation going forward. Does me fine for the games i play i think.

If they manage to keep it below 200W and under 250W for the Ti I’ll be laughing. Won’t need to upgrade the PSU then.

Should be a big step up from a RX480 to a 1180Ti, whenever it finally happens.

I'm not even that interested. Not until GPU prices become sensible again. I'll just keep my rx480 which still seems to be getting performance improvements with driver updates.

I don't know why I'm interested, I just seem to want the latest tech now, I hardly play games more than an hour at a time, a GTX1070 laptop on its own would be more than enough for me, the thing is I'm demanding, and I'm not happy unless I can play everything at high, I feel lower class when I have to drop down some settings :p, maybe not that bad but it seems it sometimes lol.
