I’m after a comfy camping chair. Full heigh with head support.

I’d like it to collapse as much as possible, but it’s for pitching the tent in the new forest sites rather than hiking, so size and weight is less important than luxury.

Ideally about £100, but I’m flexible.

PS. Who’d like a camping sub forum?

If you want real comfort, get a fishing bed-chair that adjusts the way you want it.

They are not super portable but even at the £100 mark you can get some good ones!

£100 on a camping chair?!

Think mine were about £20 and they're great. Not sure on make/model, but they're much lower than the usual fold-out camping chairs.

The mrs and I have quite a few health issues, including blown disks and fibromyalgia. So unfortunately if we’re sitting or lying on something, we need it to be more supportive than your average person.

Do your £20 quid ones have neck / lumbar support? If so they’re a bargain if they’re working for you :)

Ah, fair enough.

No neck/lumbar support, but really nice to sit in anyway. Probably not fit for your purpose (even if I could remember the details).

Might be worth visiting a Go Outdoors and trying their selection. I got my chair from a large independent camping store near Gloucester where they have a good selection, but not much help to you in Hampshire.

Yes I’ve seen that style before, they’re apparently excellent. Thanks for the link.

Does it support your head? I’m about 6”2, would I fit?

I don’t think this style would be supportive enough unfortunately, but chuffed you like them!

If you slump a bit then it will support your head. I'm 6'4" and heavy set - super comfortable for me and rock solid. The design seems to allow it to hold extra weight as its still sturdy. Can fall asleep in it comfortably which should answer the question. 1000 times better than a standard Millets/Tesco style arm-and-back camping chair but if you're willing to spend £100 on a proper styled one then it may not compare. I would recommend it though, I think it would suit your needs fine

Think I’ll be going for the OzTent Goanna King, £75 each + free p&p.
