OCUK RWYB Drag Meet 1 (Of 2018) - Saturday 21st April 2018 - Santa Pod Raceway

Type R left him.

In Acmes defence, he beat a 510bhp Type R today :D

I had awful wheel spinning times.

Anybody else found that it seemed to be quite slippy out there? I've done launches on the road and never spun up until 4th gear before, and that's even after I dropped to 20psi on the tyres. Also tried dropping to the 410bhp map.

Will have to get the ECUTek Connect + Bluettooth App as I believe you can change the amount of traction control there is on it, don't think I'll bother running 1/4's again until I've got that.

13.3s was my best, will grab the timesheet in a bit. (13.3, 13.4, 14.1, 14.4, 15.4 iirc)
I had a play with an R8 on the way home and beat it so I'm happy :D :p

But annoyed it was so close to an 11.2 run.

PB on the first run? Good going!

Please @ me in posts with pictures of the wheelspinny Red FN2 Type R and Busa with bronze lettering please (this one below ) so I don't miss them :)

Well after my 3rd run I called it a day. Bumper Undertray was annoying me, absolute crap design, pretty much came home with it partly scraping. Thought I'd not risk carrying on at the pod incase it decided to fly off. Couldn't even attach it anywhere as it had worn away with the scraping.

Anyway, I'm happy with today. I'm sure after clutch and better launches i could get low 14s which is more then enough for me and I was hoping least to least to get a 14.8. Had half a tank fuel and ran tyres at 41psi all round. Full interior too.

Times are as follows (stock is circa 15s) and in order of runs;

Esp off. Shifting rpms were around 5/5.5k. 4th I managed to get over the line just before 6krpm.

2.74 60ft 15.09 et @ 100.14mph
2.55 60ft 14.97 et @ 95.90mph let off near end
2.48 60ft 14.82 et @ 98.82mph my best go until I heard the tray scraping. Also bogged a tad on this one.

The look on the faces of the Marshall's at the end was like, not this guy again lmao. Didn't tell me off though which is ok.

So improved each time which is good enough for me. Had I stayed longer I do think a mid 14 would have been acheviable.

Nice to meet everyone again and looking forward to the next one.

Haha was concentrating on the rev counter to make sure I made the 1st/2nd shift while keeping it in lift. Which I managed every time :D

Got a 14.91 at 95MPH which I was happy with because that was my aim for the day. :)

Thanks for the pics! :)

Got the one of me vs the Type R with the times on the sign? ;) :p

May have earned myself an SP50 on the way home though! Ruined my clean sheet if so. :( Pretty sure I got flashed at 65 indicated through a 40 gantry on the M1 while steadily passing a couple of cars so I could move over for my exit...

Can do you one better than that, a video.

Haha awesome :D

I kept looking in the mirror cos I was worried you'd snapped a driveshaft or something!!

It was quite intense at the end watching you gaining rapidly and desperately trying to make it to the line first! :D

No PB for me today. I don't think I'm beating that 12.4 PB in this car without more power. It was a basically perfect run, which isn't happening for me at the moment - I just don't feel as though I can shift quick enough in this car. However that may well be to do with more flexible engine/gearbox mounts and no short shifter kit compared to my old car.

On the positive side, I ran 2 x 1.70s 60ft times and a 1.69s 60ft also today and I don't think it felt (or was) brutal at all on the car. So I felt the track improved in this way? But my my how bumpy is it down the back half? What's that about? The bikes must have a horrible time with it

My best 60ft was 2.25s which I thought was pretty decent. :D

And yeah I did notice it was a bit lumpy bumpy...

You did very well tbh. Should be chuffed :)

I'm quite chuffed. :)

EP3 Type R's usually run between 14.9 and 15.4 stock/nearly stock (official number is 15.2), and the one that I went against which had a full exhaust, manifold, skunk2 intake, skunk2 throttle body, the back stripped out, and an ECU, only ran 0.83s faster than me on his best run of the day... So I think I've made my point. :D

Lower pressures on the front would help with traction.

He did try reducing the tyre pressures. Should have gone crazy with it though. Down to 20PSI or something.
