US soldier gets world's first penis and scrotum transplant

Mate of mine came within mm of losing his ****. Went over the handlebars of his motorbike and ripped his nutsack open on his speedo/rev counter. The doctors told him that, despite the horrendous injury, it could've prevented him from more serious injury as he was unconscious before he hit the road and just, for want of a better word, flopped. He has one metal nut now.

Not sure if I have got it wrong as in a misconstrued interpretation, but you saying he has a metal nut??

WTF is a steel ball going to do for your sex life?

Pretty common cosmetic option for men who have lost a nut. Doesn't 'do' anything other than look and feel more normal.

It would make it so you don't have one lonely ball hanging in your sack like a basketball in a binbag

i know that but i never considered the replacement would be metal, for numerous reasons. i thought a silicone/plastic replacement would be far more appropriate.

Good point, it probably is tbf. But who wouldn't want to say they had brass balls, even if they were slowly corroding inside their scrotum

Great news and science in this thread... I know a guy getting a genital transplant is lol worthy but it is hard to escape the wonders of modern medicine... Also the guy is a soldier! For better or worse he has put his balls on the line to protect others... I feel slightly better about the world knowing his standard of life in living with a war injury can be improved. You?

Indeed, it would actually be good to hear from the soldier receiving the transplant. I remember the television documentary with Richard Hammond where soldiers were talking about their injuries and the prosthetics they now have as a result of it, whilst in this instance a damn sight more extreme, the Hammond documentary was good because whilst the soldiers were sad and emotional about the changes to their lives, they were also embracing the future, getting on with it and making the most of the situation.
