I really think we should have tougher sentences for repeat offenders - this person has 64 previous convictions apparently...

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/cri...ng-jail-for-pushing-offduty-cop-a3822786.html

first of the recent incidents:
Last July, Bregazzi had drunk four bottles of Prosecco and was arguing with a friend on the platform of Hanger Lane when PC Sam Chegwin intervened.

PC Chegwin pushed her in the chest in a defensive manner, ignorant of the fact she had recently had extensive breast surgery, the court heard.

Bregazzi reacted by shoving him with force, sending him toppling onto the track, just inches from the line with a fast train seven minutes away.

So she could have killed him but just gets a 6 month sentence, suspended for two years... - so no punishment (for now)... might be great if she's a first time offender and a wake up call to not get in trouble over the next two years at least... but she's got 64 previous offences so it seems rather silly

next offences:

On March 5, Bregazzi was seen on Stockwell Road, south London, acting "aggressively" towards two elderly ladies at a bus stop and throwing wheelie bins in the street.

She threw a brick into the road, smashing the window of a parked Ford Fiesta, before walking in front of a bus, which swerved to avoid her.

She went on to knee arresting officer PC Florina Russ in the chest before being restrained by colleagues. When later interviewed by police, she explained she was "not in a good mood".

and when on bail for that....

Bregazzi was on bail when she sprayed perfume at security officer Rashpal Mudahar at Waterloo Station on March 10.

She then caused £200 worth of damage to a cell at Brixton police station by throwing food at the walls and covering them in tomato ketchup. Crystal meth was found stuffed inside her bra, but she was not charged over it, the court heard.

now she's been locked up for the original 6 month suspended sentence and has the 4 months for the assaults... which is a good start... but perhaps she should have been locked up for that first offence initially given her history and they won't have had to deal with the other offences...

as for the criminal damage running concurrently - that's just silly, essentially there are no consequences for her putting a brick through a car and trashing her cell - that ought to (IMO) have added a few weeks to her sentence but instead becomes a meaningless punishment on paper.

While I'd not want a US style 3 strikes and your out where people end up with a life sentence over a tiny amount of cannabis I do think that we need to have some longer sentences for people who keep on offending.

The first incident soubds very strange.

She was arguing with her friend when a police officer (on or off duty?) Pushed her in the chest, she then shoved him back and he fell off the platform.

Why is a police officer shoving somone in thier breasts in the first place?

It jist seems bizzare.

I do think while a 3 strikes rule is too harsh how about a 15 strike rule lol. Wpuld catch a lot of these low level scum bags who get away with it over and over but 15 times should be enough not to pick up teenagers etc

"just inches from the line with a fast train seven minutes away."
that kinda diluted the jeopardy.

I don't think she checked the time of the next train before pushing him... the high voltage track that he narrowly missed is rather more worrying not to mention the rather obvious possibility of sustaining head or neck injuries from being shoved onto the tracks too.

I gaurntee the copper was holding his arm out to create distance between the two of them, as she/he was being aggressive.

What's bizarre about it? Given the context it seems likely it was done to put some space between her and himself, or the other person she was arguing with.

Because they had a necessity to use reasonable force for a lawful purpose?

But surely the police officer shouldn't be starting violence?

It seems like 2 people arguing he walked up shoved one then got his was handed to him escalating the situation.

I have to admit I've never seen a police officer just shove somone as it doesn't seem a very s3nsible idea especially on the brests

Well for the very obvious thing that happened after he got shoved back.

Shoving somoen in the **** doesn't do anything to help restrain them or to deescalate the situation it pretty much 100% garuntees a shove back or slap

Wasn't that just what the defence said? So it may be their side of the story, doesn't sound like any police I have ever seen

aggressively attacking his hands w/ her breasts you mean?

It's clearly not what happened.

He's not just went up and pushed her, has he. He's probably intervened, it's got heated. He's used some force to keep her away from him. She's obviously bat **** mental and reacted in a typical chav manner.

But you know, in this whole story lets bash the police who have a hard enough time as it is. Never mind getting abused by using force on someone who's quite obviously known to repeatedly cause trouble.
