Any help is appreciated,
Looking at hardware upgrades, I have OS and Software
Preferences wise I have Looked into some of the Ryzen gear which looks good but unsure about compatibility

AMD 6800K Richland 4.1/4.4Ghz Black Edition 4MB Cache Socket FM2.
Noctua NH-U9B SE2 CPU Cooler w/Dual NF-B9 Fan.
Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 CL9 (KHX16C9T3K2/8X).
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 64MB Cache SATA3.
ASUS AMD Radeon R9280X-DC2T-3GD5-V2 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E3.0.
NZXT Phantom 530 Full Tower Case - Black.
FSP Aurum 92+ Series 550W 80Plus Platinum Power Supply.

The case is Huge so thats not an issue but my main concerns are motherboard and CPU.

Thanx Guys

What are you intending to do with it? Your current gpu is around the same performance as a 1050ti, and your psu, hdd, cpu cooler and case are all fine. You're going to have to upgrade the cpu/motherboard/ram to something like the 1600/b350/8gb ddr4 3000, which will come to about £300. Perhaps a better idea might be to look for a second hand 1156 board and cpu and use your existing ram along with everything else. A haswell i5 or i7, 1156 motherboard and small ssd will come to waaaay less than £300 if buying used. However, we really need to know what the system will be used for.

Any ryzen will smash current set up, went for ryzen 1400 with 4 cores 8 threads
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £385.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Keeps costs low and you'll see FPS gains easily !
If you've got the cash, as above ryze 1600 for 6 cores 12 threads and 16GB ram

Its a PC my wife uses for the software and internet and social media ---- As they do, and I use it for Games, World of War Ships and similar titles, Warthunder and also 3rd Person shooters like The division, Fortnite etc.

You'll see the gains more the .your wife. Easily 10fps across the board

Use the SSD for the games

£500 would get you a nice used gaming laptop or 100 more get you a new one, might be better and just leave the desktop as is.
