Best way of leveling manhole cover

So in my garden i have a manhole cover on the path (hopefully pics work). Its a bit wonky due to the ground around it not being level and the kids somethimes trip up on it. Whats the best way of leveling it, raise the surrounding concrete or is there an easier way?

That to me looks like it's not sitting in the collar correctly. Have you lifted it up and cleared out the ring that it sits in? It may be full of stones and crud.

Already checked, looks fine to me. I'm wondering if the crack that runs through the middle of the concrete means its bowed the ring that it sits on.

Possibly. Take the lid off, get a straight edge and check.

You will have trouble trying to level the concrete as it wont be thick enough and will just crack and flake off. As said get a spirit level across it and see what has happened.

Is it a modern all in one inspection pit or is it a brick hole with the ring sat on top?

Find out what has bowed and work from there. The cover should fit snug on the ring. You might have to replace all the concrete or just the one half to get the concrtete thick enough to hold its own.

If that slab is the size of the chamber underneath I would check that for cracks inside aswell. Im also wandering why the slab next to it is so out of level with the cover slab.

Failing that. I see it is cracked near the slate aswell. if that is soil under it you might be able to dig down under the concrete and wedge it up and pack it somehow.

Are they not tripping on the edge of the slab rather than the cover?

I'm not sure exactly which bit they are tripping on, there is a mix of concrete and large pavers (which i think are either side). I would say that theres not many where they are the same level as the next one. I'll check under it this weekend but i won't post internal pictures due to whats under there.
