Buying clothes for taller torso & shorter legs

A little bit of a strange thing to ask on a forum, but have any of the bigger guys here got some fashion advice?

Basically, I'm not fat, but I sort of am at the same time (due to the proportions), but the problem I have is that my upper body is very out of proportion with my lower body; I'm 6'3", yet when I buy jeans or whatever else, my leg length size that I have to buy is short.

And with shirts, it's very difficult. Most of my height is down to my torso being far taller than most other peoples, so what effectively happens, is to get the right length, I have to buy XL or XXL shirts, but only for the length; so what happens is I end up wearing insanely baggy clothing despite my upper area being normal weight, otherwise, if I were to buy a shirt based on my weight, half the time I have a tiny bit of my stomach showing (weird issue, I know).

Now I solved the shirt issue by wearing longline shirts, and they're a fantastic invention for me lol. The problem I now have though are jeans. Straight cut, slim fit, skinny jeans all look pretty ridiculous on me due to the larger fat buildup at the top of my legs due to my legs being short. I'm looking for something that's sort of baggyish at the top of my legs, and I've never owned chinos or cargo jeans or anything like that, so wondered if that'd do that trick.

It's a very annoying issue to have, and the only way to really solve it is to lose weight which is something I'm in the process of doing, but with summer coming around the corner I'm looking for a temporary fix.

For reference, I'm 6'3" and 16st 2lbs (226 lbs).

Try Chinos, definitely. They fit me so much better, cooler than jeans in the summer too. I got my last pair from Selected (reg) fit. But I have got some basic Asos ones before and their fine, they've changed the fit recently though and not quite as good.

Also just try more on. Also Levi do a sport fit, which sound like your describing.

But also pop into the Diesel shop, expensive but I always find the fit good. And they last.

we should form a double act - i'm also 6'3" but 36" leg jeans are sometimes not long enough - and its really hard to find them in the UK anway.
Forget about other trousers, its virtually impossible without getting them tailored.

That's crazy. I'm 6'6" and a 31 leg is good on me.
Do you wear them under your arm pits :p
I have no real advice. Just try on ridiculous amounts of clothes, see what works out.

Cheers for all the replies! Went to ASOS on the end, they had plenty of shirts with either regular or long fit so went for long fit on all of them, fingers crossed they actually fit because they're all the same size, so if one doesn't fit the rest won't either lol

Wtf?!

I'm 6ft and a 34 leg! Are you an amputee?

I’m 6”2 with 33” leg, I’m broad at the shoulder and have the exact same issue!

I go to M&S and find .5” to 1” larger on the neck with a tailored or slim fit on a dress shirt works well, sometimes my hips or chest doesn’t fit depending on the range.

I don’t by online for this reason, I’d be forever sending things back!

Hope you’re happy with the purchase dude.
