UEFA Champions League/Europa League 24/25/26 April *** Spoilers ***

hmmm...you dont normally get involved in "banter" so one is confused,

:(
**** off! I always get involved in banter :p

That was semi serious though - sometimes crazy things just happen and this Atletico team aren't as good as previous years. Arsenal getting knocked out in the semi's vs Atletico isn't the way Wenger's exit is meant to go. Arsenal getting beat by an inferior side in the final is though. One final Arsenal Fan TV meltdown.

Meh I don’t expect us to beat Atletico at home, they must be celebrating going away with a draw. I know I would be lol.

So I expect a final spanking for Wenger so that he can go away with his tail between his legs.

I’m just glad he was forced out otherwise it would be the same old **** next season. I just hope whichever new manager comes in next season, makes us more direct in front of the goal and get rid of a few players. Fed up of our poor mans version of tiki taka football which ends up with us getting nothing :/.

getting nothing... except for things like 3 FA Cups and 2 Community Shields
Which I’d gladly trade for a couple of titles and a European title as well.

Community shields?? That’s a joke of a trophy. It doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. I mean wow we beat the champions in what is a worthless trophy but when it comes to actually challenging for titles??...well the less said the better.

You can look at it that Arsenal have won more than most clubs or you can look at it that Arsenal should be competing for the PL, CL etc.

One attitude leaves you with the trophies no one really cares about and an underachieving team and the other is what the best teams aspire to.

Should Arsenal be challenging for the league? I don't think so. Unless Managers/clubs **** it up like Chelsea seem to then the top three should be pretty much locked out. City, United and Chelsea. That leaves three going for fourth. Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. There will be good and bad seasons but I imagine in the main that will be how it is with the cash being spent. I think in a few years people will look back at Arsenes spell after the Chelsea and City money and realise he over achieved. That's not to say I think he should stay, they may as well go for a younger idea but I don't think they will get anywhere near a title unless the league melts down like it did when Leicester won.

Arsenals current net spend will get them what they are winning, the odd FA cup.

Yea we should. We are like the 5th richest club in the world or thereabouts and we have the highest season ticket/general sale ticket to go to the emirates.

The reason why we moved to the emirates was to compete with bayern munich etc financially and on the pitch. Financially we are earning there or there about and on the pitch we are no better then Burnley...

It's not what you earn it's what your owners are willing to spend. About enough to buy one of John Stone's legs.
Well it is sort of what we earn.

But its also up to the owners and manager how much to spend.

My point is we are not a poor club and financially a match with the big boys.

Time will tell if our new manager will have the reigns to spend big. If he does then the rumour of us penny pinching because of wenger is true then?

You're not poor but you're also not a match for the richest clubs. As of last season Arsenal were the 6th richest club in the World, in terms of revenue, however this season will have likely seen them drop to 10th and crucially, now just the 5th richest in the PL.

we are 6th out of everyone in the world is a club that should occasionally be winning things or bare minimum competing for the title and UCL.

Its not necessarily about your spend though is it. You have a manager who has been there for a long time, very settled and you have a generally very good set of players. Ignoring the amount you have spent you had Sanchez, Ozil, Wilshere, Cech, Ramsey, Bellarin, Cazorla (I know hes been injured for ages). You are capable of playing fantastic football. You haven't been lacking in quality players you have been lacking in consistency and leadership. Leicester won the league for gods sake.

In the past 10 years Arsenal should have won the league at least once and done better in the CL, its as simple as that. You have had the squad to do it at times and your direct competition has been bad enough at times to make your job easier. It will be interesting to see what happens now Wenger is gone. Will the owners splash the cash with a new manager or will they be expected to perform under the same constraints as Wenger financially.

You did occasionally win things. You're a million miles behind the very richest clubs though and as I said, you've fallen even further behind this year.
