Is 740m better than 7300 R6?

I googled 7300 R6, I assumed you talked about A10 7300 APU with Radeon R6 graphics.

Yes Geforce GT 740M is faster than AMD A10 7300 APU's Radeon R6 graphics.

GT 740M Fire Strike graphics score 1150 on both Kepler 1.0 GPU clocked 810MHz with 128 bit memory achieved 622.1 GFLOPS FP32 and Kepler 2.0 GPU clocked 980MHz with 64 bit memory achieved 752.6 GFLOPS FP32 compared to Radeon R6 Fire Strike graphics score 770.5 and 503.0 GFLOPS FP32.

yeah sorry i meant A10 7300, if i want to compare the graphics on sites it usually states (7300) R6.

okay thats interesting to know, the laptop in question(now sold sadly)with the 740m had a i5 3230m, i would imagine that whole package would be much better than that APU(still for sale) right? i have doubts about spending money on laptops with those old intel processors that have more modern graphic chips.

Yes, the laptop with both i5 3230M and Geforce 740M is much better than weak A10 7300 APU with Radeon R6 graphics, i5 3230M has passmark 3935 CPU Mark and A10 7300 APU has passmark 2912 CPU Mark.
