Xiaomi officially coming to the UK

Shame its Three. Superdrug seems a bit random, or do they already sell phones and I just wasn't aware?

Be glad it's not EE / Vodafone as they would probably murder this devices with their god awful firmware customisations.

I use Three on my work phone and it's really good signal in the south east / london area. Many time i get signal when my vodafone personal phone doesn't.

.....

I'm not a massive fan of Miui but hopefully more of them could launch here with Android one installed instead.

Android One makes a lot of sense in a skinnied-down phone and now with ZTE and Huawei banned from US market (Huawei for 7 years due to Iran sanctions violations), I was wondering who would take up the Android One banner. I see that Google is making a huge push for Android One in South East Asia and India.

Hopefully they're released with dual sims where applicable which should mean they're unlocked, same as the O2 Oneplus devices.

Shame it's 3 .... from looking a coverage maps when I was sorting out my Parents with phones last year (both have Xiaomi phones now but not on 3) there is a complete lack of any 3 coverage anywhere near them which means that provider is useless for me.

Mi Mix 2S has Android P beta right now, this is a great step in the right direction. In fact 7 phones from different makers are in the Android P beta release right now. A huge step from previous Android versions where only Nexus/Pixels got the betas at Google IO time.

I look forward to this year and next to see what Android has to offer.

Samsung probably won't be my next phone going forward as they don't seem to be part of this, they even skipped Treble on the S9...
