OMG, porn on the monitors, disgusting. But lets take a closer look! At every single screens available on OcUK.

Left thread disappointed.

when you think about it porn is on monitors more than anyting anyway.so i embrace ocuks real to life uses :p

I don't give a rats buttocks what they use to advertise personally but this was pointed out years ago when the mods were banning babe threads or other such stuff under the guise that it's a family forum. There's definitely at the very least a double standard between the forum moderation and the shop advertising methods.

I also don't care how they market and as has been said, this isn't OCuK putting up pics of scantily clad females, but the monitor companies themselves.

However, I'm going to play devil's advocate. Perhaps the YouTuber raises a valid point, I don't know. And that is, is any marketing that employs 'erotic' images suitable when considering kids under 12? Is it good to plant seeds of sexual thoughts in 9 and 10 year olds or even younger? You don't for instance see Lego boxes in toy shops with a photo on the box cover of a lego woman reclining with big breasts in a white bra that you can build. :p

Can't be bothered to watch the video but, to be fair, the monitor images are proper naff.

It's like a teenage boy's poster collection

I've always thought it is a bit hypocritical to have a family friendly forum while also having scantily clad women on a lot of the monitors for sale to be honest.

wouldn't agree personally, as I view the product buying site and the forum to be separate

the family friendly statement from what I can see is more a deterrent otherwise the forum would run rampant with NSFW and other such type of forum posts etc and the mod team would have a heck of a time with that

Doesn't even bother me in the slightest if I see a woman in a bikini on a monitor screen in the monitor pages,I am ore interested in what the monitor offers spec wise!;)

can we photoshop him? please?

Would monitors sell as well with his face photo shopped on each image? I suspect not.

There does seem to be a general trend towards not using scantily clad ladies to attract customers though, for example f1 grid girls have gone. Personally I think it's a bit prudish, these girls earn a living on their looks and can do well from it and use it to further their careers. Male models are a thing too, and if anything the use of buffed males in advertising seems to be increasing.

I don't think it is, I think OcUK add these themselves, go on AOC's site and they'll display something mundane for example.

What is family unfriendly about scantily clad women?

We really need to be careful here because the sex propaganda they are feeding to the youths of today is destroying humanity.

2000 years ago every living thing was naked. Now it's "unfriendly" to be in a bikini? By that logic, in another 100 years it will be illegal/immoral to even look at a woman's face. And then idiots like this will be calling for sharia law and hijabs because men have lost all control and looking at any woman is so highly pornographical. In 500 years it will be illegal to even look at a naked dog or cat or let your pets outside without a pet outfit because you will be deemed to be producing pornographical zoophilia material.

You realise they're fully covered right? Have you ever been to a beach? Hardly unfamily friendly... There is also no rule against scantily clad women on the forum, so it's not hypocritical.

The YouTuber will be Hurfdurf. He's always banging on about feminist issues, saying that everything is rape or 'almost rape'.

nah he does MMA, I'd give him some credit and assume that he "lifts" and he doesn't have a bum fluff moustache similar to a 13 yr old who hasn't started shaving yet

I did enjoy the attempts at a "moustache" in that video. I managed about three minutes before I had to switch off.

While you're right about NSFW, I don't think the forums are separate from the shop, they go hand in hand from a business pov.

What goes on in the forums, we're talking GD mostly, could, if left to run amok, influence buyers that happen to be curious and read the forums to go elsewhere. Conversely, well run family friendly forums can influence buyers to stay and buy more from overclockers than if there were no forums at all.
