1 x 16gb or 2 x 8gb?

Evening all,

How much of a difference is there between these options? The 2 x 8GB sticks of what I am looking at is £45 more than the single 16GB.

It's all down to how long it'll be before you upgrade, and what you think prices will be like when you do.

It's the difference between going single channel and dual channel, 2x sticks gives you better performance if you're using Ryzen, much more so with Ryzen APU.

There is a massive difference. 2x8 is far better than 1x16.

Marginal? It is literally double the performance if you have 2 sticks instead of 1.

I would go dual channel.

And that is only games which aren't that memory sensitive when GPU bound.

Silly not to go dual channel.

Its like saying 3200mhz isn't worth it over 1600mhz memory.

WOW the watch dogs 2 difference in some places is crazy

At about 8 minutes 40 seconds in
single channel 57fps
Dual channel 94fps
