What crap do you buy that you know is probably useless?

I love consumerism. I love watching people buy crap they don't need, and people who succumb to marketing (my wife is awful for this). I'm extremely cynical of any claims companies make and rarely buy rubbish I don't need.

One product however is bath salts. I love a full on camp bath, with bubbles, salts, the lot. I know that bath salts are probably just salt with a colour and smell yet I always have some in the house.

Go on, own up, what crap do you buy? :D

When I'm in town I like to grab my daily munchies from Poundland and have a looksee at what £1 Blu-rays they have on the shelf. Invariably I end up coming out with all manner of ****, like LED lights and USB charger plugs etc. etc.

Am a lot more resistant to buying crap nowadays and can ask myself " will I actually make use of this?"
Mainly due to looking at things around the house that are sitting here redundant! With somethings still in packets unused years after purchase.

One of my biggest ones was a laptop. Paid £900 many years ago and only used it for a few months and went back to a desk top. Instead of selling it I chucked it in a cupboard and forgot about it. It wasn't "crap" or "useless" just a poor purchasing decision. Worthless now and only recently chucked it.

With a high disposable income, I used to buy all sorts of stuff. Mainly expensive electronics and computer bits, but also rubbish available on the high street. I bought a Kenwood TH-79e back in the mid 90s but it became a bit scuffed over the years of usage, so I went on eBay in around 2012 I think and bid on a Kenwood TH-79e that was boxed in mint condition. Won the auction, but can't understand why I bothered. I guess I just wanted a mint TH-79e that I could keep in storage, but given I had stopped using my original TH-79e by around 2003 due to lack of interest, it was a pointless purchase.

I stopped buying unnecessary purchases soon after and actually feel a lot better for it. Got rid of the majority of stuff bought over the years. The house, shed and garage stay tidy.

This is not really useless but more throwing money away when not needed.

Ordered a £300 smart watch this morning .....
Don't really need one as my cheap casio still works fine...

Paid 24k for brand new car where a 2K car would most likely do the same job...

Bought a £500 Sony RX100 mk2 camera 4 years ago and have never used it...:o

Oh yeah, I know. mrk is every retailer's dream customer. I love how he takes such epic arty snaps of everything too, even his lens wipes :D

But then what does....;)

A rewarding life. Whatever that means to you. For me it’s bacon and boobies.

I tend to by some crap off the rainforest, but to be honest while I buy quite a lot of stuff it tends to get use. Bought a lovely torch from banggood, and I have purchased a few things I won’t use heavily, like camping gear, but it’s definitely not useless.

If I have a weakness its Steam games, I have hundred I’ve never installed, and I just keep buying them. I can’t resist a heavy discount.
