Hey guys, I've got a friend who wants to play music from his iphone through his car stereo. It's an old car, I think it just has a basic factory CD player, and I don't know if it has an aux button or a minijack socket. Is there such a thing as a CD shaped adapter that can slot into his CD player with a minijack cable trailing from it that would connect to the phones headphone socket, like those cassette adapters?

I use a cheap bluetooth streaming dongle thing.

Just need to provide power and then tune your radio to the same frequency. Works pretty well, rarely has interference, quality is pretty good.

This genuinely made me lol, how on earth would that work :D

I had a bluetooth FM thing as per poster above in one of my cars, worked fairly flawlessly.

Yeah I know, I didn't really think a CD shaped adapter could work :p

Can you link me one of these Bluetooth FM dongle things that you think will work well, are they cheap enough? Does it plug into his cigarette lighter socket, he switches Bluetooth on his phone that the dongle picks up, and then he tunes his radio to the dongle frequency?

Mine was just a generic from eBay, literally around a tenner.

Plugged into cigarette adapter, had a little basic screen on it showing the frequency it was broadcasting on, which you could change. Phone picked it up automatically for audio and calls when paired.
