1 - write a song with racial slur in it
2 - win Pulitzer prize
3 - invite white fan on stage and shame them for rapping along to your lyrics
Uhhh, k?
I'm actually a big fan of his (I'm white). The whole debate on whether or not to say the n-word is lost on me because I don't tend to sing along to any music, let alone rap. It's pretty cringy hearing anyone from the UK put on a Compton accent and rap regardless of colour.. In my mind that word is either offensive coming from anyone, or not at all. Rappers need to decide if they want to continue glamorising it (and let anyone rap along) or stop using it because it's offensive. One or the other.
Thoughts?
