Hi all, I require a PC build for my lad. He wants to play games such as PUBG and fortnite, all required is the tower as I plan to run this through a 1080p TV for the time being and have a CD key for Windows10. He will be wanting a VR headset for Xmas so potentially the graphics card given my budget will be the biggest issue. It may be that I have to upgrade that at the same time as getting the VR, again looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Right, this is not exactly what you asked for.

** That website links to competitors - EVH **

The 1060 6gb should be the entry level for VR gaming.

Now you can cut a few corners here if you want.

Downgrade CPU to 8100 - 50 quid
Downgrade RAM to 8GB - 80 quid
Downgrade SSD to 250GB - 50-70 quid

So there you go, you can build your PC for 700 if you must. You can also drop out the 2 TB HD for 40 quid savings.

Uses H310 chipset instead of B360, but the missing features aren't crucial for your usage.

Thanks all for you input, it's appreciated. I might opt to go for a pre-built machine as I need it for Thursday. Has anyone ordered them before on pre-build? is there a longer wait or can they be expected on next day delivery?

That pre-built says this in the description - 'PLEASE ALLOW 7 WORKING DAYS MINIMUM FOR BUILD TIME'. It unfortunately won't arrive this week.

So if you need it fully working for Thursday, the better option would be buying all the parts and building yourself.

Arggghh Euston we have a problem. I don't think that cooler is any good with this motherboard :(. The are conductors too close to the CPU socket for the brackets to fit. Oh nooooo

work in Gigabyte boards so should work in asrock and asus ones .

able to load a snap up on here to show the issue

unless they are taller then their rivals which would be pointless as limits nearly every cooler..

looks like it should just sit over the top
