PUBG Sues Fortnite over Copyright Infringement

I'm no expert, but could they legally do something like that? basically just revoke their right to continue using the Unreal Engine.

I imagine they can. However I'm pretty sure they get a cut of games developed on their engine so they may just use pubg's own money to slap them down and continue to take a cut of future sales.

Iirc hatred from banned from using the unreal engine logo. Would assume they have given themselves the ability to prevent people using their product as well.

PUBG was terrible to start with and has just got worse they have refused to fix issues and then came fortnight almost a instant hit with issues been fixed all the time

PUBG just upset their game sucks compared to Fortnite?

Fortnite is making over 200mill a month on cosmetic skins currently, PUBG's bubble has started to burst and their player numbers are starting to drop. Time to go after Epic rather than fix the bugs and optimisation of their game. This could be the start of the BR mode finally starting to die down and something new come along.

I played it for many many hours for about 2 months on Xbox One X and then stopped playing.

Haven't been back for awhile even though it's had many many improvements. I think it came along when there was a bit of a dearth of single player titles, but now I've been playing other games.

PUBG on console!? Are you a masochist by any chance? :P

I haven't played either, but I'm guessing the battle royal is similar to both the original Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena, released in 1999?

It's had improvements, but it's still very broken (literally; the game hard crashes frequently) and performance is still catastrophically bad a lot of the time, especially on a One S.

This is just stupid business 101. What they should've done is spoken to Epic and come up with some awesome collab or cross game somethingorother to blast both games in to the stratosphere. Now all they've done is made themselves look like a child spitting his dummy out and giving Epic loads of free publicity.

I should go in to business relations, I'm too good me.

From reports Bluehole isn't suing over the concept of the Battle Royale mode, they are suing Epic for using the PUBG name when marketing Fortnite.

We aint nothin but gamers
Well, beside lamers, gold farmers, spammers, and all the eBayers
But if druids turn into animals, and antelope
And still throw out a heal, maybe there's a little hope
I'm not an alchemist but I've got the antidote
Quit farming for your mana motes
Sing along, here's how it goes!

PUBG uses Unreal Engine 4, which is owned by... Epic. Not sure how they think suing them is going to play out in that respect.
