I have a 2004 E46 330d Sport Touring. 160k miles. It's off the road due to a blown turbo and I've not got round to fixing it. I keep getting people knocking on my door asking if I want to sell it. They won't give me a price so I just tell them I'm not interested, as I was just going to stick it on Autotrader or ebay.

The body work is not perfect; big crack in the bumper, scuff on the rear bumper, some dents and scratches in the doors, but both wings are rust free and one of the rear quarter panels was replaced by BMW under warranty for rust. The other is showing signs of rust. Other specs are:

Silver Grey with black interior. the interior is in excellent condition and looks like it's done half the mileage.
MOT due but is currently SORN'd. Last MOT it passed with no advisories.
Brake discs and pads are excellent all round. The front discs and calipers are less than 3 years old.
Alloys were refurbished and powder coated 2 years ago and aside from some superficial kerb marks are excellent.
Xenons,
Electric mirrors
Auto that was refurbished around 4 years ago at 100k miles.
Full BMW Service History as it was owned for years by a BMW mechanic.

It must be worth at least £500? Is my best bet to stick it on eBay?

Why not just tell them how much you want for it next time they come round or stick a price on the window?

How much do you think it's worth?...is the point of this thread. Obviously if the majority think it's worth more than £500 then I'd ask for more.

Slap a turbo in it and enjoy it for longer. Or fix it and sell it, worth far more working than not.

Seems like a waste selling for under 1k, the wheels and transmission are probably worth that alone

if you have time and nerves to deal with idiots then break it.

if not then fix it and sell for more.. if not then sell for £500 and forget about it.

I would love to but I literally don't have the time to take a weekend off family duties to replace it.

Assuming you have the space to work on it, could you do a few hours here and there?

I replaced the turbo on my 2002 330d back in the day, took less than 8 hours start to finish with nothing more than a decent Halfords socket set, some jacks, some axle stands, and some grazed knuckles.

This was my plan, but have a toddler and an extensive house renovation so not really possible.

You'll get £500 all day long on the bay. Put a new turbo in and you'll probably get a lot more.

Slight thread bump, but have finally put my car on ebay it's doing better than I expected. Have had a viewing and 2 people offer me £1200, which I'm considering.

I’d bite their hands off!

£1200 for a non running ,scruffy (my interpretation of your description) 160k mile e46 with a short MOT is IMO very good.

You’d get more if you could fix it but say yourself it’s not viable to do so.

Anyway, it’s £700 better than you were initially expecting!

The fact it needs a trailer to collect means there is a probably a good chance of time wasters. Was one of the £1200 offers from the person that viewed it?
