Hi everyone

I built my first gaming PC last year and now I am trying water cooling for the first time. The case I am using is Fractal Design Define S, and I used the EK configurator to make sure I seemed to have everything. I am using a EK-XRES 140 Revi D5 PWM as my pump/res combo, but due to lack of space where I have my case it is on its side. I wondered if it is okay to vertical mount the D5 or if trapped air/vibration noise would be a problem.

Thank you for your time

yes you can vertically mount it (base label down), the only way you cant use it is upside down, (base label facing upwards)

Vertical is how it’s designed to be mounted? Unless you mean horizontal in which case also fine as long as you follow the guides and keep in mind some of the ports on the res require extenders to properly seal.

Oh man yeah I mean't horizontal. Sorry! I asked the question after a 12h shift and I don't even know my left from my right at those times.

Horizontal is fine I believe but check the manual (download PDF on EKWB) as you presumably will use one of the res top ports as an inlet so extenders are required or the fittings don’t seal properly I think (the small EK one is sufficient).

It says in the guide for the standard res which ports do or don’t I think (been a while since I looked)
