Visa flopping ffs

The sad fact with it all is that yesterday it was probably the retailers that were having to deal with the complaining customers who weren't seeing the bigger picture that it was actually a European issue with Visa.

I like how the mighty Visa was brought low by a single hardware failure. Bet their Head of IT is ******* themselves this weekend. P45 imminent.

I hope the people charged even though the transaction failed get their money back. That would be bad if they didn't acknowledge it.

Best quote from my girlfriend's work colleague about this yesterday; "Oh it's ok, I've got a quiche in" :D

People acting like it's the end of the world. My card worked fine at Tesco (chip and pin). Why do people have to get so outraged all the time.

Hopefully not jinxing myself but in nearly 30 years managed not to lose my wallet. Though I know people who could lose 30 wallets in a year with ease :s

my sister is the worst. think she has lost her wallet 5 times this year :/. Each time losing driving license, credit cards, debit cards etc etc

Did a paypal transaction yesterday (connected to my visa debit) and its showing up twice on my bank pending transactions. Phoned paypal who said I was lucky, some people are showing 10x the same transaction.

same happened to me today :/

done 4 transactions - got 12 showing up in my bank account

Might be an idea to contact the bank to register the mistake in case it causes you any problems. I'm currently in a long, long queue to Lloyds customer services.
have sent a message to nationwide using internet banking (just to show ive taken the effort to log a call)!

After 25 mins i got through, they just said that they could cancel one of the transactions if i got a number from paypal, but that would mean phoning paypal back up, waiting in a queue, then phoning the bank back and waiting 25 mins in their queue. So it ended up that he said only one of the transactions will go through and the other will cancel after 5 days. We will see...

I was forced to use cash yesterday for the first time in 10+ years, to buy some things from Tesco. The queue for the machine was over 10 deep :(

You gonna be alright fella? Do you need a hug? You can borrow my safe space for a bit if you need :(

Wonder how that works, barely anyone pays cash at a restaurant and presumably don’t have it on them. The restaurant can’t hold people to ransom, so free meals?

In the end, they were going around to tables to explain the problem and pointed out a cash machine across the road, bit of a pain - but not the end of the world :)

Apple Pay is instant.

Like any contactless payment.

I ask for a pint. They bring said pint, with card machine. I double tap my home button and hover my phone over the machine. Instant payment and I walk off with my pint :p the whole process is much quicker than paying by cash

but security data stealers !?! OMG cash is king etc.

Cannot deny how simple and easy apple pay is  Just wish it didn't have a limit. I have to use my thumb to use it so it's not like someone is gonna steal my thumb also :D
