Titan X Hybrid Fan Speed Help

Hi all. I've recently bought a Titan X Hybrid all in one Maxwell graphics card.

The fan speed is set to Auto in MSI afterburner and never exceeds 50% (The temps never go above 55 degrees either)

The fan on actual graphics card is whisper quiet in normal every day use. As soon as i load a game or something demanding the fan ramps up and is super loud. It's almost maxing itself out when it doesn't need to.

Is there any way i can change this please? Is this a BIOS issue please? As i say everything in MSI afterburner is fine and the temps are brilliant so there's no reason for the VRM fan to be spinning as fast as it is.

Just to confirm the fan speed in question is the VRM small fan on the actual graphics card and not the fan attached to the radiator.

Thanks in advance.

Can you not set a manual fan profile line in Afterburner? ramps up only when it gets to certain temps? I think you've set the basic fan profile but there is a more advanced version fan profile you can set up.

Hi there. I've set this in the fan control but this only affects the fan attached to the radiator and not the vrm fan unfortunately :(

@Watlinguk are you sure about MSI Afterburner controlling the radiator fan? I've used a hybrid kit, you should be able to control the shroud fan using MSI. Make sure the fans are connected correctly, a loose connection could cause issues, power cables are seated fully.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. Could you send me a photo of your afterburner control please as everytime I alter the fan curve it just increases the rpm on the fan attached to the radiator.

It’s almost like the vrm is getting really hot as soon as I launch a game but the gpu temps are really good.

I’m super confused
