Disposable income

After my bills and savings are paid for, if I have an extra £50, it goes into crypto. Been doing it since January and still waiting on my lambo

lol @ 40% tax, pensions, holidays! I'm a blue collar pov with a spare few quid at the end of the month not some IT whizz on 80k a year. 5 holidays a year, I haven't had 5 holidays in my life.

you own about £5k+ worth of mining gear though?

so you aren't exactly poor.

so you thought you would invest after everyone has made money out of it and everyone is leaving it as it's essentially a ponzi scheme?

Crypto is the last thing someone with only £50 a month disposable should be investing in.

Especially since January its been a bear market.

Unless you are actively trading day to day.
Says who? Isn't that the whole point of disposable income, you use it for whatever you want? Get off your high horse

Every penny you can into a pension.
If youre a higher rate tax payer you get all that tax back.

I prefer to do that than overpay the mortgage..although I do put a bit more in still.

I'm taking advantage of this but can't help thinking that I might drop dead before I get to enjoy it. I've got no dependents so it'd be bloody annoying.

I'd recommend loading it into your pension. It's tax efficient and you won't be tempted to waste it on something you don't really need.

I put 7% into my pension and my employer puts 14% and it is surprising how quickly it builds up. In addition I am deep in share schemes it's a bit worrying. I get a 30-40% annual bonus but at the minute that goes into share match (2 more years until payout) and I put another £250 a month into a share save scheme and my employer effectively tops it up by £50. Once this all begins to mature I will be pouring it into the mortgage to try and clear it in the next 5/6 years. At the minute I feel quite exposed to one company.
