Look what my son bought me for Fathers Day.

My daughters have paid for me and the wife to go on a Battlefields Tour taking in the Somme & Dunkirk amongst others.

Nice. I did one about 15 years ago and it was brilliant, hope not much has changed in the meantime as you really get an experience of how the locals are still dealing with it now if not

I think my wife bought me my gifts from my son! The cheap little git that he is. I swear his next milestone is just into next month and I am not buying him anything. How do you like that. See how he feels when he is 2 months old and gets nothing!

I think it's time he got a job and moved out TBH.

4 sons , 4 cards , 3 wanted to borrow money to watch the England game and the 4th hasnt hit me yet with what he wants.

and a case of Proseco for the daughter in laws to drink whilst raiding my fridge/freezer/secret stashes.

+get to babysit the grandkids whilst they get hammered as they have designated me as the taxi for tonight.

at least i will be back at work in 8 hours and might get some peace.

and yes got the cards today , about an hour befor kickoff.

Gotta say chaps, you're all making fatherhood seem like a very mixed bag!

heh, don't let that put you off (if you're thinking about it or about to be) it really is one of the best things in the world. I highly doubt any one of us would change it for anything! Fatherhood just makes it compulsory to become a grumpy old man sometimes XD

I got a card my 6 year old boy had made at school and written/ drawn in, it genuinely brought a tear to my eye. And he gave me a massive hug which is pretty much the best thing in the world.

It seems like Father's Day / Mother's Day are turning into additional birthdays with extravagant gifts. I don't get it.

Neither do I, I had a hand made card from my son and a card from my daughter, likewise we got cards for my Dad / Granddad and spent the afternoon together. No idea how playstations etc. fit in to it??

General Discussion sub forum actually, but thanks for taking part and sending a condescending post.

[ how did he know my name was Lol ? ]

It's a Butter Roller (or at least has been so far :D)

Neither do I. Or my parents. I got told if I buy them anything for mothers/fathers day I'l get disowned! :D

Naturally I just bought myself things instead! :D

I got a biro shaped like a saw, some shower gel, and a huge Toblerone. Rollercoaster of emotions, opening that little lot.
