New car and wipers smearing

Had a new car for just over a week and I love it except the wipers, which smear really badly. When they smear it almost looks kindof like temporary condensation build up that then goes away when the wipers stop wiping the screen. Not there without the wipers on.

What is this and how I can fix the problem?

Most likely wax or polish on the screen, what have you used to clean the windscreen? try washing up liquid if that doesn't work, use white vinegar soak a towel in vinegar and place it on the windscreen for 30 minutes, then use the towel to wipe over the screen, then use hot water and rinse off.

Edit: Could also be the screen wash being to strong.

More than likely some wax/polish on the windscreen and/or windscreen wiper fluid (may be too strong as per the above comment). I'd say clean the windscreen and wipers properly, flush the windscreen fluid and put something else in there at the optimal level of dilution.

I had a thread on this a few months back which might be worth a look at as it's what helped me fix my smearing issue.

I know people are saying about claying but i wouldn't bother about that unless i tried the cheaper methods and they didn't work. First would be washing up liquid with really Hot Hot Hot Water, If it still happens next try would be white vinegar again with Hot Hot Hot water. Also wipe down the wiper blades empty out the windscreen washer and just put water in it, and see if it smears then.

Rubbing alcohol or white spirit will get rid of whatever is on it. Obviously don't splash it on wildly :P

Take the blades off and give them a proper scrubbing with soapy water (which will de-grease them).

Nothing else ever works for me. A quick clay mitt and the rain flies off without the wipers - similar to rainx, but without the smearing issues.
