what is the best travel card to use? Looks unlikely that I'll be eligible for the Halifax Clarity Card with only a 40% chance of approval. im thinking something along the lines of a card that I can preload with a currency, but one that allows me to withdraw maybe £300 worth of currency in a month? Ive seen a few but the cash withdrawal cap is low and im travelling mid month so couldn't exploit it over a trip across two months.

Staying in Krakow for 5 nights.

Metrobank or Revolut.

I have both and id go with the later. Its so freaking easy to setup online, took about 10 days to be good to go.
Wireless contact card, fully accessible through their app.

Metrobank, you can fix in a day if you go into a branch but they are mostly around London.

I use a Post Office multi-currency preload card, only used it in the US so far but going to Rome next Wednesday so I'm going to throw some Euro's on it for food over there.

I have a couple of credit cards but like to use them for normal day use and then we use the PO card at restaurants never found the need to go for the Clarity card.

Did 5 weeks in America using a Fairfx card and not touching cash once. Used their Eur card for years but recently moved to Revolut and just back from a week in Majorca and again used the Revolut for everything, didn’t touch cash.

Highly recommend Revelot. From application to card was 4 days for me and I am in the Channel Islands. They also have other useful services such as one time virtual cards.

Another vote for Revolut, I travel to the states twice a year (for the last 3 years) and have never had a problem! The app is easy to use and you can control exactly what's on your card at any time. Freezing the card whilst I don't need to use it is handy too, Just remember to unfreeze before you try and pay for breakfast in Dennys and get refused twice.. derp.

A few weeks ago I grabbed myself a Revolut card since I'm going to Rome in early July. The app on Android is very well done too and can exchange your pounds on the fly into most currencies.
