Just noticed there's an option for "simplified" controls for the planes, its on by default. No wonder they felt a bit crap, not tried them with it off yet as finding a game right now is incredibly hard.

Seems that at least some of the graphics assets for settings are in the game, sticking everything to ultra dipped my fps from the 60's to 40's on my ryzen\furyx system.

I wouldn't read too much into performance for the alpha especially if you find yourself CPU bottlenecked (1080p users specifically but maybe 1440p in some cases). The alpha will be running a lot of debug code and gathering various metrics which will add a significant CPU load. Also there will still be a significant amount of performance optimisations to be made before release. That has certainly been my experience from past betas. My old 6core 3930k @4.4GHz was melted by the bf1 beta, but it would be fine for the retail version.

Graphics wise, I would expect 1080Tis to smash this game at retail upto 1440p (120fps+), the consoles haven't suddenly caught up. Some of the graphics features not used on the consoles might end up being badly optimised and require a titan-v ceo edition.

Good news thanks mate, talking of cpus did game mode in win 10 ever place nice with bf1/make any difference?

Still no love for me - everyone on Twitch seems to be playing as 1337 sniporz, seems like they have been nerfed a bit from BF1?
 
No key for me either. Been invited to every alpha since bf3 but didn't play bf1 that much cos it was kinda meh.... Now they make a bf game were the mechanics are heading in the right direction and I don't get a key.
 
FInally hitched my first at cannon to a tank and plonked it in a good position :D, then nobody bothered using it :mad:.

Honestly, its a pretty **** map to get a feel for the game. I just enjoy using tanks and this is spamzerfaust central. Looking forward to longer ranged maps, something like sinai to get into the tanks more.

Had BBQ at lunch again today so another couple of burgers, hot dogs, chicken etc. etc. Fair to say that I've had more than my fair share of BBQ's, at least for today...... :D Now I just want to vedge out and play games, even in this heat....
 
One thing i do note is that so far planes seem pretty ineffective at doing much damage to ground units, not sure whether people have twigged to the simplified controls option or not that's on by default.
