Girls banned from Wearing Skirts in 40 schools who instead adopt Gender Neutral uniforms

This guy sums up the situation best:
[snip]

There's already been reports that men are becoming reluctant to hire women due to the #metoo movement and eventually there will be no women in professional sport due to trans men pushing them all out. Women are under attack and don't even know it because it's being sold to them as progress. If you want to bring about social change the first thing you do is indoctrinate children.

Men react to the #metoo movement by not hiring women and that's somehow feminists fault?

The trans men thing is a fair point, the speed at which people are pushing for 'progress' can be dangerous and things like trans men in cis womens sport have been seemingly overlooked.

I mean the really messed up thing is the fact that parents were never consulted according to the article.

Funny you chose that quote and cut the rest of it.

As that's the mother two goes on to say "girls have always rolled up thier skirts once they left the house, but after that it's up to the school to disciple them and make sure they follow the rules.

Well they did they decided that instead did wasting their time telling off your badly raised sprog 10 times a day to just give everyone trousers and be done with it.

I've not got time to read all of this, can someone please fill me in with the key metric, namely; on a scale of "Finally Brexit will give us our wonky bananas back!" to "Angela Merkel's immigration policy" how frothy are the usual suspects getting about this?

Life's too short, when I was at school the girls moaned about not being allowed to wear trousers, the boys moaned about not being allowed to wear jumpers. In the end the school caved on both points and everyone could get on with their lives. A gender neutral uniform could achieve the same thing by eliminating perceived unfairness. The main thing to remember though is I just don't care either way.

Yep, guy is spot on.

I chose that quote because it showed that parents, or those who have to buy them the trousers, were not consulted.

The fact that the mother goes on to say that girls always roll up their skirts doesn't counter the fact that parents weren't consulted. This is a non sequitur argument from you I'm afraid.

You're completely assuming that rolled up skirts is something worth spending time disciplining. Do people go to school to learn or be propagandised about attire? Back when I was at school no one gave a crap about such mundane non-learning issues. Why is a rolled up skirt so unfair? Oh girls rolling up their skirts is so unfair to transexuals isn't it. lol goodness me. Cant believe girls are being forced to wear things just because transexuals are not naturally girls and have manly legs.

Care to detail why you think it is that boys should wear trousers and girls should wear skirts?

This is so true it hurts.

I went to a uniformed secondary school and they spent so much time trying to get us all to tuck in our shirts and make sure we had at least 5 stripes showing on our ties. If they spent that time focussing on our education instead it'd probably be one of the best schools in the UK :D

No, consulted means *asked*, it means that the parents weren't asked their opinion on the matter before the school changed the policy. It doesn't mean the parents weren't informed.
Here, maybe this will help: http://www.dictionary.com/

Yeah. Back in the day my teachers we had some brilliant I'm not sure any teachers like this exist anymore I mean I highly doubt anyone could get away with being a cool teacher these days. My work was always top standard and I got away with wearing trainers and un-tucked shirt AND jeans for FIVE years.

If some homosexuals or tranns are so deeply saddened that girls get to wear skirts, then getting girls to wear trousers will NOT solve the actual issue for goodness sake.

Bit of a non issue if you ask me. If you remove the whole 'transgender' angle it just sounds like any other school uniform policy change that many schools go through each year with little to no notice given to the parents. As a parent you just have to suck it up and if you are lucky the change comes in with a new school year (normally meaning you are buying new uniform anyway).

Our school for example changed their uniform policy meaning shirts and ties rather than polo tops had to be worn. So now my child looks like a small business man on his way to work.

I don't recall outrage on this level over some schools forcing boys to wear trousers instead of shorts in summer.

.... eventually there will be no women in professional sport due to trans men pushing them all out
Really? Excactly how many trans women do you think are out there? How many of them are, or want to be athletes? How many of them would be good enough to compete? Do you think that a trans women would automatically be better at sport than a "normal" woman just because... what? They had a penis at one point? They might have a slightly different hormone mix? They might, if they aren't taking hormone therapy, find it a bit easier to put on muscle mass?

At this point in time I can only assume 100% of all women on the earth were men at some stage and they are all transgender, yes, this even applies to my mum and girlfriend.

It is sad that so many dudes take such offence with this non-issue. Why is it so important that schoolgirls be allowed to wear skirts?

What makes what a meagre 40 schools have chosen to do "Utterly disgraceful" and grounds for "treason"? Why is it "daft", "bonkers", and catering to "a nation of limp wristed pansies".

Can you honestly not see how one could imagine comments such as the above coming from rabid, frothy mouths. It's like satire, but in real life. :D

Obviously it's because we all want to hide in the bushes at the school gates and have a **** come home time.

You are right but given at the moment you only have to declare yourself a women and it cant be questioned, you might soon find all those not quite top 10 male athletes thinking about declaring themselves women to win a medal. Sounds ridiculous but I wonder how long before someone does it - even just to prove a point
