Your pet peeves at work?

Everyone talking spanish and they should be talking english. When that crap starts i just walk away.

I worked with 2 south africans, liked them both a lot. But them talking Afrikans to each other, joking and clearly talking about people (you could hear names) was NOT cool. We had several falling outs over it.

Meetings which go on for longer than they should. Just because you booked a meeting for an 1hr doesn't mean you have to use the whole hour chatting about crap I have no interest in. Then still have the cheek to let the meeting over run pass the scheduled finishing time.

PDR's, all I want to do is come into work, do my job and go home. Not waste my time doing extra admin work just to make the organisation look good. If I want to personally develop myself within the organisation then I will say.

Being sent away on compulsory training courses which has no benefit to me.

It does make me laugh when a company doesn't have money for this, doesn't have money for that but can find money to pay for 60 staff to do a 2 hour box ticking exercise out of normal work that doesn't really accomplish much that couldn't be done more effectively with some quick 15 minute smaller group sessions in normal hours and a well produced email.

Exactly, stupid isn't it?

At my older employer I was away on leave for a week, I came back to an email from my boss "We have booked you onto an ITIL course" I questioned him why when I rather go on an Microsoft Windows course as it would benefit me more being 2nd line support. I was told no because money etc. Ok, so I went on the course, HATED IT as I find the process mind numbingly boring. They did this so my boss could say to the organization "oh yeah! all my team have been on ITIL training" (willy waving)

A year later I left the company, I received a bill a month later asking to pay the money back for the course. Called them up and said I am not going to because I wasn't asked to go on the course, I was told to and I didn't want to go on the course in the first place. They never chased me for the bill after that.

People who leave their phones on the desk to ring at full volume. That's annoying.

People who cook really stinky food and then walk around the whole office with it.

People who deliberately belch, burp and fart as loud as they can, like it's funny.

When I'm busy with one colleague, but another colleague calls me to do a job he could do himself. Just plain lazy.

Women that dont have their bus pass ready and sort through their handbag to find it, holding the whole bus up.

I am getting to the point where retirement can't come soon enough. 33 years of very hard graft in the main, has started to catch up with me. 51 next week, that's one hell of a lot of work work work work, bit of life, balance.

are we now talking about anything which annoys us.....we'll here's one

People who stand right up to the sandwiches in boots when making their minds up. Selfish or dumb? unsure which

diagonal walkers (any city outside London). Why can't people just walk in a straight line. They seem to time their walks so they bump into you

When you kindly wait outside a shop when people are coming out and they don't say thank you (or even give you a little nod). Find myself shouting "you're welcome" these days (they look shocked)...again, unsure if ungrateful or just dumb (thinking a bit of both)

Terrible IT and systems chosen by people who do not or will not ever use them purely on cost or because they are friendly with the supplier

Yup, my boss continually rigs the rota so I'm subject to her and another girl waffling on in Polish all day. Really is the height of rudeness and what's worse is they'e doing it deliberately to try and get a reaction out of me.

I raise you terrible IT decisions made by exec members that don't understand IT.

I once worked at a company who had a younger lad with the title of IT director, he had zero IT qualifications and wired a room up in a way that would have failed numerous standards. Turns out he was the son of the CEO.

Just had one...

Timing your exit from an elevator exactly the moment a group exits a meeting room and being stuck behind this slow moving herd who take up all the corridor space

Just because you're in a herd doesn't mean that people behind you don't have places to be, people to see, coffee to get

Thankfully I get to work alone 95% of the time, sharing a van when I have to annoys me as mine is spotless inside where as the others treat theirs like a kennel and stink inside with crap everywhere, sharing or borrowing theirs annoys me.
Oh yes I also hated this. I travelled all over the borders of Scotland and kept my motor spotless, even used to wash it at a council yard in Duns. Have a day off and come back to a midden, food rappers, drink cans etc etc hated it. Mind you I supposed it was understanderable as most of the other drivers had not left home so were used to their mothers cleaning up after them.

People staring at their phone in the street and being surprised when they walk into me.

Are... Are you me? Hahaha. Commuting 90 minutes into London each day I deal with a lot of stupid pedestrians.

Male colleagues who moan about time wasting and sticking to the schedule but then we lose two hours of the production because they can't stay hard.
Female colleagues who like to have a competition between each other showing off how much they enjoy their jobs by making the most noise.
Anyone in the crew who starts ****ing! Do that in your own time!
Producers/directors who think they're entiltled to do what they want with you - if you wanna have a go on my snatch you should become a performer!
People who want to talk about work when I'm on my break. No I don't want to talk about spit roasts while I'm eating my hotdog!
