Where do I stand with amazon?

It was a warehouse deal and I'm still within the window on where by theres a price reduction or offer within x amount of days they honor that. That's the issue here and something clearly outlined in their T&C's. I contacted them with the expectation of getting the 20% I would get, and left happy with 10% and now they've not even honored that.
so if you are within the time frame for this why not quote it to them instead of waffling. why did you start by going on about returning it within the 2 week window. if you are indeed within price match period why did you not just mention that to them. they are obliged to refund you the difference without any returns malarkey.

Exactly that! And the fact I can now get 20% because Im also within their 7 day window of price drop guarantee, this is why I'm annoyed. 20% of £1299 is quite a lot for me.
see above, stop being annoyed :p

if, as you say, you are within their price match window then you are entitled to the 20%. just contact them and tell them that.

Then pay the money to send it back and then order a new TV at the cheaper price. You can't expect Amazon to foot the bill for the delivery back to them.

Maybe try and keep your cool and be less confrontational in future? I find Amazon reps are very helpful if you're calm and polite with them. I'm not sure why people feel the need to say things like "I'm making a complaint against you" or "I want this to be escalated because I feel you're telling me the wrong thing". I'm fairly sure that they don't need to deal with rubbish like that during their probably very busy day. Your final comment of "I'm raising a complaint against both agents, this has been awful" isn't very nice. If you're not happy with what you've been told, contact them again by phone or try another chat with them. Have you tried starting a chat politely with "I'd like to speak with someone about a refund on an item that's had a price reduction as per your price promise?" That might get you somewhere.

why would the op return the tv if he is within the price match window?!

Because in the original chat the advisor mentioned that they can send it back for a full refund and then they can purchase the TV at the 20% off price. The OP then said that they didn't want to pay £30 delivery to return it for a saving of £115.

but why would they return it if they are within the price match window. they are entitled to the 20% refund if that if the case with out returning it. 20% of 1299 is 258, minus 30 delivery is 228. 10% of 1299 is 129 minus delivery is 99. i'm still stumped where the 115 is coming from. unless 1299 is not correct?!

OP am I missing something? Did you buy this TV at a certain price, with zero faults or issues. Then contact them for a partial refund because they reduced the price later? And then act like an entitled **** to their customer service when they wouldn't bend over backwards and give you 20% of the price of your purchase back for no reason at all? I really must be missing something?

you are.

you are missing the point that the op was within a price match window - or so they are saying. if the price drops within 'x' number of days of purchase they will honour and refund the difference. i think what the op did was confused the whole damn thing by wafflng on about returning it in the first place.

Its more im happy to return it IF they are unwilling to just do the simple refund the diff. I'm happy to take a hit (well im not but whatever) on delivery to save a fair chunk.

I did lose my cool but personally nothing annoys me more then being misinformed whether intentional or not, just a pet hate.

Like people who sneeze more then 3 times in a row.

Surely since the discount is via a 20% off code and not an actual price reduction you're not entitled to the price match. After all the price of the item hasn't changed.

From past experience with Amazon, when I've ordered something and then found the price has been lowered the next day prior to the item being delivered, Amazon will never refund the difference. You have to cancel the original order (if their system allows it) or refuse delivery and then it will work it's way back to Amazon, in the meantime you place a parallel order for the discounted item and receive that one.

Use camelcamelcamel or a Firefox plugin to search the prices before you buy.

TL;DR:

"I bought this telly and now it's cheaper"

"k, we can't give you monies but you can return and buy it with the discount again"

"Waaaa, waaaa, not acceptable wanna watch telly also, gief free monies pls"

Is that about right?

OK fair, no mention of this in the OP though?

is the above true?

if so why are you still going on about returning the damn tv......you don't have to. if you, as you claim, are within the 'x' number of days and it is in their t's & c's then just go back to them and quote that!

edit: i am starting to think that you aren't entitled to the 20% and that you know that. which is why you're hanging on to the whole returning the tv angle.

I dont know, Not something I do often to be honest.

I have someone from amazon calling me after work now, should see then.

Ignoring my chat thread. Story is

Bought tv last Thurs.

Now 20% cheaper

Within time frame to get refunded the price gap

Tried and failed to put my point across, but still am told 10% and then not after that.

ANGRY
