PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Where are the European servers hosted at the moment then ? I've never had lag issues yet, but i don't know how to test my ping :/
AWS (Amazon). Ireland/Frankfurt. All connections seem to go through Ireland first though.
It's a rather convoluted process to test pubg atm. You have to grab the ip from network tools and ping that. Obviously doesn't give you a truely accurate figure though as the server rejects it.

to be fair, @Mynight is usually a decent fella, but he can get a tad triggered from time to time....usually for no apparent reason too :p

decent run. struggling to get over the line for a chicken dinner at the mo, think it's all the dead weight i'm having to carry
Be thankful you've never had to carry me!

EDIT: seriously, you know that scene in Predator where they mow down a section of the jungle trying to shoot the predator? That's what I'm like in PUBG, except with worse recoil control.

Worse than we already have?

If their TS hosting ability is anything to go by then yes soooooo much worse. Afaik they host rocket league as well and the servers in that can be well and truely dire.

TS was under DDOS attack every few days. Ping was terrible to their london servers let alone their further out ones.

They may have got better but they were very much cramming as many instances as they could on the cheapest servers a year ago while charging silly money.

I would be willing to bet the only reason they're getting involved is to sell custom servers. Instead of bluehole making the effort and selling them themselves they're going to farm it out and give us worse quality in the process.

I wonder if they will add high power servers locked behind the battle pass.

i can promise you it would be no more a chore than some of the dead weights that i'vr had to suffer!!

seriously though fella, get yourself on to discord. if i can offer a bit of advice, i had a butchers at your stats and you seem to place relatively highly in games with relatively low damage/kills so i'm guessing there's a fair bit of camping, circle surfing (there's nothing wrong with that, i'm not having a pop) the problem with that though is your ranking is increasing but your 'gun play' is not. so you find yourself in gun fights with people who are far superior because they have had more practice. start dropping a bit hot (not red hot) get into fire fights, yea you'll die early but it will have a twofold effect. your gun play will improve but also your rank will come down a bit putting you in moe balanced games.
there's no point playing to a top 10 place every game knowing that you won't win cause you're going to get rinsed as soon as you get into combat.

also, and you i'm sure are aware of this - find a weapon combo you're happy with and learn the recoil pattern as best as you can. e.g. some people love the ak and can shoot out a mouses eye from 500m away, others hate it and couldn't burst a balloon 2 foot away (i'm in the latter bracket with most weapons!)

ah ok, just read though that they hosted the titanfall 2 servers which i always (mostly) found to be excellent.

After us talking about lag today, this news comes.

I can't see it being a bad things at all.
Bluehole must see it as a way of bettering their infrastructure - especially if they are chucking some physical servers at it for some dedicated performance.

It's also running multi-cloud (multiplay)- AWS, Azure and Google, which should mean less downtime for us, when any one of cloud services has impact, it shouldn't affect us as much. Hopefully they build it with the scalability across clouds. I'd also more than happily pay for a decent pubg custom server. In fact, all my twitch subs earnings can go towards one if they start charging for some dedicated low-latency servers. Imagine playing pubg with a 15-20 ping - mind. blown!

Multiplay I mean, they're using all of the main cloud providers as well as other private datacenters hosting their physical servers.

custom test on Friday?

Anyone willing to arrange it all.

maybe make a custom thread or something.will be nice to do proper community games. patch should be live tomorrow so then we can sort out when and where. i think its best to not over do it. only at weekends and maybe 8pm onwards.so most here can take part.

Like my new outfit? :p :D
