Yet another ripped off on ebay thread... advice please

So final outcome finally got of the phone from ebay

Explained the whole situation, and the facts i put in OP, explained that the buyer has not replied me after repeated messages on collection etc
The response
- we cannot/will not reopen the case as its closed
- we will email the buyer and ask them to return the item

I asked if he doesn’t return it or ignores your message what’s the action then

eBay response
- Nothing as the case is closed

******* ebay. Don't take that for an answer. Ask them to reopen it.

Kick up a stink on social media. Also, where did you have to send the mobo?

The fact that ebay has already refunded the buyer and doesn't give a toss if they return the item or not...

What a complete joke ebay is!..

I would like to see them on BBC's Watchdog!

I said you have no seller protection and she replied with its fair on both sides, that really annoyed me and stated that on what planet is this fair, you completely ignore all my messages for help and i have given away a £300 board and paid the guy £100 to have it

Long pause then she replied I don’t want to repeat what i have already said but we cannot reopen the case ...

JOKERS never using ebay again

That's not going to bother them in the slightest.

Ebay are a huge international company, being covered by a state owned program that might get a few thousand viewers isn't going to worry them at all.

The only way Ebay take a hit is either from a very large class action, or from sellers abandoning the platform. Although it will just end up with businesses selling on there, which frankly i find is better on Amazon anyway, especially if the items are fulfilled by Amazon.

Only thing the OP can do is report to action fraud and hope there's a slither of chance that they investigate + find the person responsible.

Not sure if it can help tbh, i have family who work for the police and they said nothing will happen

:( unfortunately there's too many people up and down the country falling victim to fraud. But still worth logging the case in the event that the buyer does it again to someone else, it's probably quite normal that once they've got away with it once, they'll try it again. At least if there's a list of victims building up against this one buyer, then it might shed more light.

Do what I mentioned and go through PayPal complaints procedure, and once that is concluded go to the Ombudsman.

Got me my money back when I sold something and money was taken from my Paypal account 3 months later in similar circumstances. eBay/Paypal tried to make me out to be the perpetrator when the buyer claimed the transaction was unauthorised use of the card.

My bet is he will shut the account and open another and rip someone else off

I said to ebay that they had been unfair to me by ignoring my concerns even though i am a long term ebay users with great feedback, and now i have a strike against me for not resolving the dispute

So out come is
- loose £300 MB
- Pay a guy £94 for his trouble
- get negative as a seller

just keep bombarding them with messages. do the same on social media. they cannot close the case until the board is back in your possession.

According to ebay they can and she’s only sending them an email as a good will gesture

I said if its not enforceable what’s the point!

ask to speak to someone more senior. she is wrong, she is allowing her company to be complicit in what is effectively theft. actually don't ask, demand to speak to someone more senior.
