Thanks. I got Saturday delivery so it is coming tomorrow. I just know that I'm going to find the cooling system hard to install lol

Yep for certainYouTube vids![]()
Just get that bundle with a case and power supply. You can't go wrong and will be set for the next 5 years. 8pack has even linked the ocing profiles in the main thread.
and that I should cancel the order?! Kinda annoyed now, not sure what to doHe said that the rigg isn’t anywhere near 5 year proof. Its a mid/high range coffeelake cpu range system. Not sure why your friend said that? This bundle will definitely last that long and possibly even longer with just upgrading the graphics cards.
I'm rather new to all this, but to my knowledge, the i8086k is the best intel chip currently available? With only the i9 range that will beat it, but considering that they are well out of your budget, I'm not sure what your friend expects?
Well the plan is to upgrade the gcard when I got the funds for now ill stick with it for a few more monthsOne reason why I linked Ryzen, board has ability to take another two gens of CPU but , any CPU youve chosen will last 4-10 years... Why, because game developers still haven't codes for multicore properly yet. Only games that truly has , in the Lost Planet Games and they are quite old now ...
He's banging on about skylale X, which is expensive, should be considered for workstation loads as a core costs more then your budget, and Threadripper has come in and but that series of chip almost in a grave ....
People are still running 8 year old second gen Intel i7 2700k and most likely will upgrade when 9th gen or Zen two come out, as there CPUs have lasted the length of time .
Hardware you bought now is already out of date as Intel/amd have mapping 2022 roadmaps and tech . Just the way it is, your weakest link by far is GTX 1060 . Can use an i3 8100 with that, I7 8086k is complete overkill for it
Google who @8 Pack is by the way , and then take note he's slapped and clocked this bundle and offers the aftersupport for his customers

hopefully end of year will open more GPU options to yourself
Hopefully, I can happily wait as this card handles everygame I play easily. Only issue I had is that my old system could not handle sim racing in VR
Unless your CPU was bottlenecking the GTX 1060 in a big way you're not gonna notice a massive improvement in VR until you upgrade your GPU.
I'm curious, did your friend help with your old rig? What were the specs of it?
